...or some very helpful advice - but my glass is half full, not half empty like yours.

The OP stated he took the time to try and produce the poor clouds you saw but couldn't. So replying with sarcasm only shows you didn't appreciate the time and effort somebody gave to try and replicate your issue.

I am aware that xplane can at times look spectacular and I have uploaded a couple great looking screenshots myself. I wish your pretty screenshots would mitigate the issue but they would need to be great looking consistently.

There are weird areas of the weather/clouds that I have seen too.  I think it's just that the weather system is still a WIP.  As you know XP is sort of a beta for the first year imo.... The 12.06 really increased the realism of distant clouds for me.  Up close I hope Laminar can make some nicer voxels or whatever tech they're using because they tend to look lackluster in detail.

Contrast this with this

Both actually taken in the same general area (new england near KBID)

(actually i just noticed the same blocky phenomenon on the far left but since I'm further away it's not as pronounced)

I have no idea what you're doing, are you running on the lowest possible settings? I've never seen clouds look like this in the sim

I had uploaded strange voxel? cloud screenshots before in this forum in previous betas and they said it was fixed, but obviously not. I assume this may occur only randomly since these voxels? are a dynamic, constantly changing process and therefore may be hard to replicate immediately, which doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist. I will try various settings and report back.

Could be a leftover from the weather map bug reported in 12.06b1(?). Maybe it was just a hiccup from missing weather station data or some corruption within the GRIB file. If it can be replicated systematically, it's definitely a bug.

Are you able to produce this problem consistently, if so, please let us know how so it can get fixed

yes, but not constantly. it can change from one moment to the next while I change nothing but time of day. its much more obvious if you slew closer using the map. I used xplane's built-in real world weather today, flying from EGLC to EHAM.

lowest? how much higher does it go?

I think it is only visible when you are close and not too high above or below these voxels.

I would not want to be your co-pilot when you explain to the passengers you have to make an emergency landing because you saw some bizarre looking clouds.

Link to your log.txt might help. Flying blind otherwise.

I flew through much worse life threatening storm clouds in my own airplane. Glad I had no passengers with me. first and last time I prayed.😁

Mixed outcome alas with b07. Functionality fine. Some of this seems a bit regressive - that is introduced some issues not fixed them.

In some places the terminal lights are exploding light balls at the moment completely out of perspective and scale.

Thought the rain issue was fixed at FL's - seems not. Some weird visuals - like this at F290 and it is streaming rain - looks like something out of StarWars:

Then from the ridiculous to the sublime:

Guess we shall see. Had a couple of CTD's with attempt to save using the XP12 menu tab. Still very very good flight simulation. No issues with aircraft or model functionality.

@turbomax

Perhaps the anomalies you have had depended on some problem with the server that sent corrupted metar data. 🤔

I've been sightseeing above Lake Geneva, real weather, I haven't seen any major anomalies in the clouds.

However, during my tour near the lake, the weather created a layer of knife-edge clouds (they were probably "stratus cumulus" with a very flat base).

thanks for your feedback.

I have been told it was my own individual problem, not an x-plane bug. therefore no need for anyone to investigate this any further I guess.🤣

I think that every report should not be underestimated, it helps us understand if it is an isolated or widespread anomaly.
After I saw your photos I wanted to understand if I too had those strange clouds.
I haven't seen them yet, but the fact that I haven't seen them doesn't mean they don't exist.
Maybe in a "particular" meteorological situation strange clouds form for me too, I was hoping to have luck and be able to see them, but I didn't see them. 😉

However, during my sightseeing tour of Lake Geneva, I saw a very strange thing.
Maybe it's an unreported bug. 🙄
Now I'm opening a dedicated topic to discuss them.
