Feeling/sensation of speed looks pretty cool with that wide of an FOV across the screens.

Would make for some pretty awesome challenging landings like Kai Tak, Madeira, Bhutan etc etc.

Hi,

I landed in Kai-Tak in the sim, amazing approach!

I hated VR. I had the Oculus Rift 2, and it was so dark and low resolution it put me off.

Same here. The only thing I liked about flying in VR was that, whenever I took off the headset, my regular 2D monitor looked amazingly sharp.

Exactly why I quit VR. I’ll revisit one day, when it’s glasses and not some weighted brick on my head. Probably a long way off.

There is a lighter VR headset, don't know much about it.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

That is absolutely amazing @Mike_CFII_MEL What's the total value of the entire cockpit and how much space does this take in the house? Spectacular stuff.

Hi,

Everything costs about 100K and it's in my two car garage 24x24.

I had it built by flightdeck solutions, I even had their IT (Steve) come and build the deck, took a week.

I can see myself with large bits of metal and springs forlornly trying to link pilot and copilot rudder pedals LOL.

The up-and-coming Apple headset's look promising, or at least a step in the right direction.. but at that price.. no thanks

He's streaming right now. His setup is absolutely amazing

I have a good amount of hardware.  Thanks to spad.next I'm able to create aircraft specific profiles and use hardware from one airplane but in another.  VR I've never tried, but I'm a sucker for spinning dials/switches/buttons etc.  I like the tactile feedback.

Hi Mell,

Good to see that you also have switched to MSFS. I really like your cockpit and your vid’s.

Did you know that with Philips HUE + HUE app you can add “outside” lighting into your cockpit ? That I did recently. So at daytime a lot of light and at night almost none. At dusk/dawn ambient.

Might be an extra nice feature in your cockpit too.
