That's interesting because I think the first 2024 trailer shows the line. Maybe it was an old version of the engine then.

Yep, that's what they said.

Cheers, Bert

I said that in my post lol it wasn't done in time for the trailer.

Was there any indication that iniBuilds is working on the A320Neo prior to todays stream? Jorg said some people were already speculating but it came as a complete surprise to me.

My notes so far:

Sim Update 13 & active development
    - white dot fix:settings addded to customize the cursor behaviour
    - horizon line visible: partially fixed, less visible in some situations now, completely gone in some situations now
        - only new architecture will make it go away completely
    - stability and memory usage improvements
        - they've been doubling down on QA, long flights, more test machines added and doing 250+ hour flights, etc
    - logbook issue fix, now using compression for smaller size
    - VR controller regression in SU13 beta fixed
    - WU and POI various fixes
        - orbx and gaya fixed various issues
    - 40th anniv aircraft fixes
        - inibuilds a310, etc
    - piston engine enhancements by WT (matt niscahn came on)
        - lot of work done in SU13
        - various new optional parameters in engine model to get the fixes and enhancements
    - WT 747 and 787 enhancements and fixes
        - simbrief integration (CJ4 also got it)
        - weight & balance panel in CDU improved
        - computed and programmed step climbs
        - closed loop (automatic) checklist items
        - 787: EFB takeoff performance calculation
        - 747: auto fuel system management, VOR and APP map formats, lots of bug fixes (vnav, etc)

Q: Will horizon line issue be fixed in v2024?
A: yes (and it didn't make it into the v2024 trailer)
    - required complete rework of atmospheric engine and architecture (integrals are involved, in v2020 they are pre-computed, in v2024 they are computed live on-the-go)

Q: How about incorporating the atmospheric color fixes?
A: v2020 values will be fixed per the community reccomendations, v2024 has reworked atmospheric engine and will be even better

Q: What about future fixes/features on wishlists for v2020 and priorities, feedback snapshot, etc? They have not been updated in a while
A: This will be updated again starting with tomorrow's dev update, most of the items *will* be addressed. Some of the wishlist/feature requests will be in 2024 (i.e. seasons). Some things like shared multiplayer cockpit will come in v2024 but after launch

Q: Scenery gateway?
A: Asobo's work is done (airport editing only for now), currently going through privacy & security review by MS

iniBuilds Mitsubishi MU2
    - worked with Mitsubishi
    - aircraft has huge number of variations, ini focused on short fuselage, executive and utility configuration
    - great short field performance and takeoff/landing qualities, efficient engines 800nm range @ 25k feet
    - classic cockpit and functioning weather radar
    - realistic startup sequence with the multitude of switches/controls involved
    - tried to get accurate feel of turboprop and handling
    - manual will be provided

World Update 15
    - Norther Europe and Greenland
    - new DEMs (50cm-1m resolutions in some areas, and 2 meter resolutions worst case), much better than WU5
    - brand new aerials, 8-10 photogrammatic cities
    - Stockholm: can't do photogrammetry since under military review to ok the use of data (will be relased after this WU15)
        - Zagreb was in a similar situation, as with some other cities in previous WUs

Local Legend 13
    - Saab B17 by iniBuilds
    - usual iniBuilds quality bar

Sim Update 14
    - instead of just AAU03, since it's more than aircraft/avionics
    - improvements from feedback snapshot and wishlists
    - more stability and performance fixes
    - snow coverage fixes
        - looked at feedback, looked at data
        - one issue identified (unit conversion bug, displaying 10x more snow incorrectly, this fix should most issues)
        - source data: ocean temp, ocean ice coverage data is there.. but Asobo wants for all water bodies
        - so solution along with above unit conversion fix is to take current snow coverage depths in source data, and then use threshold of 20cm, if more snow than that then consider water body is icy, etc
        - more work planned with data provider, to improve data
    - atmospheric lighting improvements
        - the community recommendations and other will be implemented, and do as much as possible without needing re-write (color fixes, ozone level, etc)
    - ATC
        - effort to get bugs fixed started, right now fixing bugs and goal is to get as much fixes into v2020 as possible
        - major rework will come in v2024
    - WT aircraft/avionics:
        - Cirrus SR22 Turbo:
            - various improvements/additions including overhauled flight model
            - uses new piston model and features
            - replaces current Cirrus model
            - this rework was triggered by CEO of Cirrus (proactively reached out to MS/Asobo)
        - new A320-neo by iniBuilds, with quality >= iniBuilds A310, will sit alongside current Asobo A320

Re: world updates for Brazil, Africa, Asia all being worked on.. but need to wait until data is available, and that data is worthy to be released. Efforts to get this is constantly being worked on.

Q: Snow coverage fixes: Can altitude be taken into consideration?
A: Asobo will discuss with data provider, not just altitude, but also mountain slope and what direction it's facing, etc all have impact on snow coverage

Q: Any word on water dynamics improvements?
A: Working on it and are aware, too early to talk about

Q: When will we get more info on MSFS 2024?
A: Probably in the spring, will be tied to larger announcement (especially in regards to specific release date in 2024)

IIRC, when Ini first showed off the A300 earlier this year, they said they would also be working on a more modern Airliner
Could they have meant the A320neo announced here?

Edit: Confirmed that isn't it on their Discord.

What are these low effort questions ? This almost looks like a pre planned q&a. Like who cares what causes the loading bug in su12 beta ??

Also Martial being clueless as always on most of the questions. Also can someone give him a better mic ? I'd rather this guy is not invited in the next stream. Absolute waste of brain cells listening to him.

Wow rude as heck. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Oh yes, even in the presence of info and likely even after v2024 releases there will be wild speculations me thinks :), as that is par for the course with some in the flight sim community.

Best info from the "horse's mouth" we got so far are these below, and can keep referring the wild speculators to these, but have a sneaky suspicion that won't calm the said speculating or deliberate misinformation churning out there 🤷‍♂️

Well some people will have to eat crow about thinking Asobo would have ignored the atmospheric lighting fix. I'm so happy to hear that it will be in the next SU. Really, really happy to see Asobo's commitment to changing the game when it comes to default aircraft...WOW!

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

Man if the ini A320Neo is as good as their A310, then it's going to be amazing.

I think the questrion of terrain texture morphing was briefly posed by Jayne but I didn't get the answer (if there was one). Can anyone elucidate, as this has been with us now for a year now.

Kind regards, Michael

They said a huge modern airliner. I'm thinking a payware A380 or a A350.
