OK I have the MS Store version too and I just use windows defender so I'll see if thats it. Did you run as admin? It says in the readme no need to run as admin but?

I don't think its Windows defender since it reports no recent actions. I also tried running as administrator but problem persisted.

No, I don't run it as admin.

Do you have MSFS installed to the default location?

Probably not. The default location is is C:/Program Files

Right? I've always had it on its own drive D:/XboxGames/Microsoft Flight Simulator

Ok, it was just an idea because the default location is a protected folder. But then it must be something else.

Hm. not working here either. installed the latest sdk as well. oh well.

I downloaded the DynamicLOD-master.zip. Unpacked it. Then unpacked the embedded DynamicLOD-latest.zip. Then started the DynamicLOD.exe from there.

I cannot seem to find the DynamicLOD-master.zip. Only the DynamicLOD-latest.zip.

Where did you find the master.zip?

Requirements

  • .NET 7 Runtime
  • MF Event/WASM Module

Look like it just goes in the community folder?

So I'm on MS Store with the Game downloaded in default location. I run Windows Defender only, no other AV.

1) Go here: https://github.com/Fragtality/DynamicLOD

2) Click the green 'Code' button and 'Download ZIP'

3) Extract 'DynamicLOD-master' then open the folder > DynamicLOD-Master and extract 'DynamicLOD-latest'. Do not delete anything from any folders, you can however delete the ZIP files. You should now have two sub folders 'DynamicLOD' and 'DynamicLOD-latest'.

4) Open 'DynamicLOD-latest' > DynamicLOD and then double click the .exe to open and run

Points to note:

a) I have had it where the application literally doesn't open, I put this down to delete all the other folders/files, so as I said just leave them all in all there folders and sub folders.

b) Sometimes it takes a while to connection to the 'Session' where it appears Red, but it does connect.

c) It's far from perfect, but definitely works.

d) If I am correct, 1 for LOD would be 100, 2 would be 200 and so forth... I would personally not set higher than 400 at any altitude but you can test yourself

e) I haven't tested this much, but on descending, it didn't seem to drop the TLOD as required, but as mentioned earlier, I was too busy landing when below 5000 to check and I forgot to chekc when I got to the gate.

EDIT: Oh yeah I must of had both requirements already installed as it worked without any of them for me, but definitely worth installing/updating if you plan to use it.

Not sure if it's working as intended, or I don't understand how to work it correctly.

What I'm trying to accomplish is the ability to maintain a specific framerate. This appears to adjust TLOD based on AGL, but doesn't make adjustments based on Framerate. (this doesn't recognize Frame Gen BTW, so set half of what your desired target is)

I went for a pretty extreme setting of TLOD 6 at 1000 AGL, hoping that it would reduce TLOD to maintain my FPS target, but it didn't. Pretty sure i'm missing something.

I finally got it to work; all "msfs", "simconnect" and "session" in green.

But the TLOD levels don't change as the aircraft passes my set treshold altitudes. The sim value for TLOD turns red, but no change in the program or in sim.

Anyone who gets the TLOD changes to work properly?

I assume you got it to work by installing the mobiflight-event-module?

Where did you put that folder?
