If so I'd go with 50+- I might remember wrong here as i am not at the sim. Sorry properly 5 as you say. Michael Moe Michael Moe

This would help with ground and low level performance, so initial climb and approaches on down to taxi would run better. I think that's already happening. We had a major performance bump in I think it was SU5 and guessed that might have been part of it. That was years ago now. Right now even on a 3+ y/o CPU and GPU I have liquid smooth performance everywhere in anything. I'm surprised to hear from top end CPU and RTX 4090 users they have any need for this. I also use DSR 4.00x and between that and maxed out settings can't see where to improve w/ regard to object and terrain LOD. Seems about like it should except where the native textures aren't good fundamentally. When I changed from TLOD of 100 to 200 or even 400 the visual differences are virtually absent often. Because everybodies setup is different mate. I've got a triple 4K monitor setup. I can maintain 30FPS in the PMDG at mid size airports but with little traffic. If I had a dynamic LOD slider then I might be able to get that at larger airports or load in more traffic. Not everybody's system is the same. LOD change in the background on the fly without any interruption or stutter in the sim. This seems to be a gamechanger - unless anyone encounters any adverse effects. (I'm talking about the OP's app here, not that Flow thingy.) I could not get it working. Do you need something more than the latest published zip?

I hope the worst thing that can happen is that MSFS crashes but works fine again next time when I don't use the app.
December 16, 20232 yr Author I have used it for a few flights so far, with max TLOD set at 3 and OLOD set at 2 max. Worked well for me with no issues, but the last flight I did it didn't reduce the TLOD when I checked at around 5000ft but I was too busy landing to check. Edited December 16, 20232 yr by Brocky120
December 16, 20232 yr This is the same author as Fenix2GSX right? Fenix2GSX is fantastic and he's always been quick to update/fix things....hopefully this tool gains some legs like Fenix2GSX did! Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs

(I'm talking about the OP's app here, not that Flow thingy.) Hey, thanks for trying it out. Let us know if your computer still works tomorrow 😆. Seriously though, thanks. If you’ve got a sec, could you briefly explain how the interface works? The one in X Plane had you set an FPS target, and it would increase or decrease TLOD based on that target. December 16, 20232 yr Well i've got it download and I've ran it. That's easy. It is an executable and it does have a GUI that looks simple enough. An the top there is a box called connection status with three indicators MSFS, SimConnect and Session. The three of them start out as Red and once MSFS started the MSFS indicator turned green. But once I get to the flight I see at no point do the other 2 red indicator lights, Simconnect and Session turn green. I put the folder with the executable on the desktop. Perhaps that's the problem. In the read me I just said place the folder in a reasonable location. The GUI itself has a box called sim values which shows FPS, TLOD, OLOD, AGL, FPM and Trend. I think these values would be dymanic if it was working. They just read zero. Their is also a box called FPS adaptation. One box is for the target minimum FPS and the other boxes for the aamount to reduce the LOD by if the FPS drops Etc. Looks the part. I just need to figure out why the Simconnect thing and session thing aren't working. Anyone know? December 16, 20232 yr Considering I'm asking this, I probably shouldn't be the guinea pig... but... Upon launching, I've got MSFS in green font, SimConnect and Session in red font. I'm assuming the red is telling me it's not connected? Any ideas? Edited December 16, 20232 yr by mikethe6th
December 16, 20232 yr Strange. For me Simconnect and Session become green after a few seconds. Maybe some Antivirus/Firewall software is blocking it? And I have the MS Store MSFS version.
