Is it my setup or London look terrible in the sim?

Higher max speeds don't necessarily affect minimum speeds when your ISPs network is congested. Still, can be worth a try.

Yeah I’m concerned that this is likely the case.  Only an extra CDN$5/month though so worth a try.

I notice a lot of people posting screenies of 'stock' London but have obviously forgotten that they've got Orbx London installed.

I know this as I've got it too.....unless Asobo have acquired it in an update I'm not aware of.....

Might have been directed towards me. No, I do not have that installed.

I went from 50mb to 1gb on Bell Fibe. A significant upgrade for MSFS. (Although just going to 100mb probably would have addressed most of my data issues).

I forgot to mention that I also have ORBx Great Britain South installed.

EDIT: On a side note, I have no idea why anyone has default road traffic installed. Like its predecessors before it, the road traffic in MSFS looks very unrealistic when I see it in YouTube videos.

When I called Eastlink they told me the upgrade was free so I guess I have nothing to lose (but all kinds of questions on why they didn’t just upgrade me before I called lol)

Yes.  I have mine at just 5%, as it really helps performance, but I like to see at least a bit of movement, but the speeds look wrong - too fast (we could adjust them with a hack in FSX!  ), and they do that weird unrealistic bounce between dead ends.
Hopefully something else they can look at for 2024 (although there are a lot more serious things first I know).

Xplane road traffic has better lights as well, and I love seeing the odd emergency vehicle in there.  Very immersive!  Nothing I will leave MSFS for though!

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I would also like to "enjoy" the melted photogrammetry buildings, but all I get are those clean default Lego-type buildings, even though I have it activated in the settings menu and have a great online connection. I used to get photogrammetry previously, but no more. anybody any idea why this could be? here are my settings:

No I don't understand that.  It should be on.  Have you tried toggling the photogrammetry settings off and on and saving settings in between?  That kind of thing happens sometimes.  I had to do that to get my 'Bing Data World Graphics' back once.

Other than that, I suppose you know photogrammetry coverage isn't everywhere.  It only covers limited areas.  Probably 1% of the world or less at the moment.  Just some major cities and towns.  It defaults back to autogen in most areas.

yes, tried all that and not in timbuktu but little Londontown and tiny Parisville.

I was going to suggest to fly no lower than the legal minimum of 1.000 over congested areas and see if that melt was still so bad up there?

PG cities are sceneries on your computer, not on the servers, as far as I know.

No. No home computer would have enough diskspace to hold all that data.

solution: had to re-install some 3D photogrammetry 3D cities in content manager. must have left some out after a fresh re-install a while ago and forgot they are not automatic.

and before you know it, ugly melted buildings came back, including some bridges over and under troubled Thames water. should probably fly higher there  than those 1.000 ft. required minimum. but all of UK 3D cities only 105 KB? is that why they call it now UK instead of Great Britain. Even Great Italy with its 307 KB is 3 time more. 🤣

PG had always been a hit and miss for me. I useally start flight with PG on, but most times I have to turn it off when approaching PG area. Makes me a little worried about MSFS 2024, considering its gonna be even more cloud based:(

that's why I mentioned it. between several updates, beta in-and de-installs, removing and re-activating this pc from online xbox status, partial world/scenery de-and re-installs, modifying .cfg's and moving the whole shebang to a new 8 TeraByte SSD, its easy to lose control what's going on, when where and why. oh and did I mention a few beta updates and some patterns in x-plane 12 in the mix? 🤣
