February 13, 20242 yr I don't have Navigraph yet, but I am considering it. I would be happy to hear any thoughts to convince me or otherwise. I fly both Liners and GA just lately. Anyway, how about this new feature? Will it please current Navigraph owners? https://msfsaddons.com/2024/02/13/you-can-now-export-a-navigraph-flight-plan-directly-to-your-aircraft-in-msfs/ Edited February 13, 20242 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). February 13, 20242 yr I've been a user for a while and this "new feature" has me confused The most significant change in this update is indeed the vastly improved ability for users to plot their flights within Navigraph and seamlessly export these plans into the avionics system of their chosen aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator. This enhancement simplifies previous workflow complexities, ensuring a smoother transition from flight planning to in-flight navigation. I've been using Simbrief (integrated with Navigraph) directly into complex aircraft for a while now! Thomas Derbyshire
February 13, 20242 yr I do my flight plans with Navigraph, don't use their charts, and then use the Navigraph downloader to load it into all the aircraft I fly .
February 13, 20242 yr I was a huge naysayer of Navigraph for many years. Mostly because I fly almost exclusively in the US and we have full charts available for free. I just didn't feel I needed it. Also a lot of planes I flew had some avionics that didn't take navigraph (soon to change) But anyway last winter I decided to splurge and get the Ultimate (so worldwide charts etc) and it's been really nice. The times I branch out to other worldwide locations I have updated data and charts. And when flying in VR, almost all of the glass avionics I use support or are about to support charts 🙂 It's a game changer. Additionally, the navigraph charts app is really powerful - I'm sure by flying GA I'm barely scratching the surface of what it can do - you can overlay IAPs/STARS/SIDS right onto an enroute chart, you can see your aircraft on the chart (georeferenced) - there's cool star/sid overlay planning - you can display all of the arrival/dep procedures for an airport at once so its easier to decide which one you need.... there's winds overlay, radar, satellite, vfr charts, ifr charts. There's flight planning tools etc etc. The user interface is really well done. Their customer support is excellent (typically discord but also forums work well). And then when I consider the monthly sub cost (or I do the anuual), it's honestly pennies for entertainment of my main hobby, compared to anything else these days. Do you spend 5-10 GBP on a meal each month? Just skip that and put it towards navigraph hehe. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 13, 20242 yr I had Navigraph back in the P3D days and it was kinda "meh" for me. Recently re-subscribed because of the integration to MSFS, VFR charts and other enhancements. Really enjoying the new technology! I do fly in several countries and having the charts available without a lot of internet research is really nice. Mostly I fly GA and MIL. I'll renew it next week. You won't be disapointed. High quality software. February 13, 20242 yr Oh that’s pretty cool. I use Simbrief for aircraft with more complex flight planning needs, but this will be nice for more simple cases where I just need a flightplan. But I definitely need to drop a burger or two!! And put it towards Navigraph! Worst case you could try it for a month if you really hated it (which I highly doubt), you will only have wasted that burger lol. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 13, 20242 yr Navigraph is one of those subscriptions I just never even think about not having. I use it every single flight both for the charts and the moving map (I have it on a second monitor), not to mention the navdata. Looks like it eliminates the annoying "hit space bar twice, look for and select your flight plan, and then if you make any changes like, say, selecting a gate to start at, the routing will be messed up" issue we encounter with those aircraft. OP, yeah, this is a pretty cool deal, especially if you like flying things like the TBM, CJ4 or Longitude like I do. It's not a make-or-break thing (I subscribed to Navigraph long before this feature was implemented) but it's certainly a very nice thing to have. Yeah I should have clarified that I don't touch the default flight planner with a ten foot pole either. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 13, 20242 yr I started using Navigraph in earnest about two years ago, and it has only gotten better and better since then. I was initially using it for airline ops mainly, and then I would use LittleNavMap, which is excellent on it's own, for most of my GA ops. But more and more, as more VFR features got added to Navigraph, I started using it for all of my sim flight ops, airline and GA. Now, I use nothing else, and feel naked without it. It's even great for heli ops, and it really shines if you can have it running on a second screen, or even better, a second PC or laptop. I myself have an older PC next to my sim PC that I use for Navigraph (and everything else besides simming). It really is a great piece of kit, and it just keeps getting better.
