I'm not sure what's with this reply or the hound reference; I was just saying I wasn't sure what the point was since 22 FPS in that environment with a huge amount of AI is pretty good still, at least better than what your post seemed to suggest. I was expecting something around 15-ish.

Before I got my Spectrum my Dad brought me a Texas Instruments TI99/4A, it didn't come with any games but he was kind enough to get me a weekly subscription to a magazine that had games where you had to manually enter 100's of lines of code LOL He was a hard man back then 🤣

Not quite that setup, I have a 4080 instead of 4090, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than ~130fps, even in the middle of nowhere in a GA aircraft.

I’m almost afraid to mention it, but I think I might have gotten close to 200 in the Vertigo flying upside down at 100ft AGL over New Zealand’s west coast. I think I made a video about that experience. Can’t remember the settings though. It’s probably the most fun I’ve had in a simulator - not solely due to the fps of course (my monitor is 120Hz, and I fail to see much difference over 60-80 Hz). And remember, the human eye can only perceive around 30Hz

My sincere apologies, it was around 130 max. I was sure I had 180-200 once, over Moloka‘i in the Bonanza. That demanding it was not. I could very well have dreamt it though (can’t find any evidence). Yes, hrrmmm.
