March 25, 20242 yr The entire board must step down. If you are not an engineer, you are out. No one needs business ecnonomists and accountants that only look to stock value in a position of power of a business where quality is vital to safety.
March 25, 20242 yr Yes, no more bean counters please. Bring in someone more like Alan Mulally, who IMO was the last good CEO of BCA. Brian W KPAE

March 25, 20242 yr Changing the CEO will do NOTHING to solve whatever the problem is. The problem is systemic, Just changing the "management" won't fix a thing. IMNSOHO......... How many can perform marketing? How many can ensure cost control? How many can deliver profitable purchasing arrangements with buyers? Perform HR? IT? Legal? Can't outsource all of those functions and be a well-run business. An underperforming board will eventually be replaced by shareholders, following a significant drop in share price. Don't get me wrong, more engineering understanding absolutely needs to be included at Boeing's board level. Throwing away all non-engineering senior management won't fix the company's issues though. March 25, 20242 yr There's a 'good ole boys' mentality. For reference I spent my career in QA (Called QC in the 80s) mainly defense & GAA. I was an FAA rep, too.

March 25, 20242 yr Apart from management changes Boeing needs to relocate its headquarters back to Seattle. The Chicago experiment is an abject failure. March 26, 20242 yr This is a good first step. I'm sure the CEO will get a golden parachute, although I could be wrong about that. Replacing all the board members with engineers would not be a good idea. Yes, engineering and quality control need to be brought back as top priorities, but you still need the accountants, business managers, and sales folks. After all, Boeing is a company and companies must make a profit in order to not only survive but to innovate and improve. Whenever there are problems within an organization, the cause almost always lies with poor management. Yes, you can have lazy and incompetent personnel, but management is ultimately responsible for dealing with bad employees. Hopefully Boeing will learn from their mistakes and make a successful comeback.
