On a typical long haul flight you cross boundaries between different weather maybe 5-10 times but almost during the entire flight different weather can be recognized to both side along the route. I have bought ASFS too and many aspects about it are very nice, but we should not forget that seeing different weather zones while cruising is a feature, that is only offered by default live weather. I will maybe provide some screenshots of what I mean. That is undisputed, ASFS can't do it in Preset Control Mode because of the limitations put on them by MS/Asobo, which undoubtedly is a drawback. And it is a shame that MS/Asobo don't allow third party developers to make full use of MSFS weather. Maybe now that thanks to ASFS many simmers can see how good MSFS can look if several different types of clouds are depicted, and how good MSFS can feel with appropriate turbulence effects, they will finally make up their mind and realize that they can only win if they allow third party developers to improve the weather in MSFS.

April 20, 20242 yr I finally was able to get this last night and spent an hour listening to the Tortured Poets Department and re-familiarizing myself with the AS interface; it felt a little like catching up with an old friend. It was clear a lot of thought went into this and I am looking forward to its development. Damien, don't be too concerned with the range of feedback -- the landscape has shifted from the old FSX and P3D days, there are a lot more voices and it takes much longer to sift and separate the gold gold from the rock. Remember what happened to GSX when it was released -- and that was much worse than what I have seen said about Active Sky. Yet, today, GSX has been adapted by many and has a good reputation. 48 minutes ago, scotchegg said: Does AS inject cloud turbulence into MSFS live weather’s clouds in passive mode? April 20, 20242 yr A possible improvement I think might be to include a humidity strength / clamp setting. Sometimes MSFS’s depiction of humidity can be really over the top. Edited April 20, 20242 yr by DModjo

If you still see Live Weather is on in MSFS, something is not right. AS should turn off LIve Weather in MSFS, and set skies to Clear. If you still have a problem check the Active Sky Forum, there are several things to check. https://forums.hifisimtech.com/forums/asfs.57/ Edited April 20, 20242 yr by Bobsk8

As I said, separate weather cells / fronts along the route (not flying into) are only in default weather. The video did compare weather right in front of the aircraft though, that's why I responded to it. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord.
