They'll never have weapons by default in MSFS.

It was Tucker Hatfield who brought us Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator in the past. He and Bob Church has been previously busy with combat controllers (F16 sticks, game mods, etc.) in other non Microsoft sims.

It would raise the age ratings, they'll want to keep it what it is now.

Combat would be a separate sim if they ever wanted to do it again.

His "audience" clapped at the end...

sounds more like 3 wishes haha

we wont get warstuff luckily, i am sure about that.

Sorry to say the truth, but if I want to launch missiles, I launch DCS - to get the most ultrarealistic military on-board and cockpit system targeting and radar avionics and radar simulation possible, so complex that it takes two days of learning only the radar systems alone for the achievment of having the first target locked on 😉 (and one more full day to learn, watch tutorial videos, write endless notes, read Chuck´s guides to learn how a missile is launched after doing such a lock on.) F-14 and Apache RIO seat is the best seat.

Better not implement simple arcade shooting into the Flight Sim just for the sake of some shooting action. There is no challenge and learning curve in that, one would not feel the complexity of learning this complex sophisticated radar systems on RIO seats. And action like "pressing R2 to launch one of the 250 stored Sidewinders" like Ace Combat or other sims who decided to implement a bit of simple arcade shooting for a wider audience is not realistic. So psssssst better don´t mention missiles today so close to SU15 release otherwise they decide to implement bombs and missile programm codes and scripts this afternoon which would delay tomorrow´s SU15 release and the Duke and the PMDG 777 for eight months more 😄

(But we can discuss missiles of all sorts tomorrow after SU15 was released and no more barriers for Duke and 777 are present.)

Hmm, like JetCat just said, if anyone is interested in military simming, then DCS is simply the finest/best simulator available for that purpose. As for flying into space and visiting distant planets...? hmm, surely if you have any interest in this you'd get one of the already established space games such as Eve or something similar.

A nice bit of click bait but his ‘knowledge of the gaming industry’ is sorely lacking if he thinks turning a civilian flightsim into a combat flight sim is ‘relatively easy’.

Annnnnnnnnnd, Avsim reacts predictably as if sacrilege has been spoken.  🙃

Discussions of combat here always go exactly the same way.

Every time.

If I wanna fire guns in a gamey environment I go play War Thunder, that's fab.

MSFS doesn't need rubber bullets and wooden bombs, it's a civilian flight Sim with the potential to include other civilian modes of transportation in the future, it don't need no guns!

Click bait nonsense once again!

This person probably has no clue so why even waste time watching a YouTube video like this!

Simply another Click Bait post.

Because the video ignores MS' desire to keep weapons out of a civilian-focused flight sim. (Everyone knows the A-10 Warthog carries a huge spotlight under the nose... 😉)

Use the same base components as MSFS to possibly create a separate title such as Combat Flight Sim? Sure.

If Eagle Dynamics is actually struggling and MS pushes ahead with attempts to win commercial contracts, CFS2026 could well be a thing. Just absolutely not as part of civil flight.

From where I sit, Avsim reacted appropriately to an idiotic video.

There's a real cancer of clickbait articles and videos making obvious BS claims. Sometimes they're more subtle - "PMDG 777 release date" headline with "we don't know when the release date is" in the body, and sometimes they're just stupid, like this video yakking on about things that will never happen.

I personally don't care about putting combat in MSFS. Like others have said, there's no point. DCS will always do it better.  But claiming they're going to do it is intentionally lying for clicks, because they're never going to do it.
