Can't wait to get this amazing aircraft in my hanger, outside model looks stunning, very authentic compared to the real life model, like that !

Anyway i think the plane is still around 2 months away from publik release..

I flew so many times with the MD-11 as passenger in my younger years, great memory's, cant wait to have her in MSFS.

Lovely, another freighter is getting close to release!

Hehe, imagine accurate failures being modeled and multiple "tire failure" on landing. The "woman" autopilot/AI sound will multiply for every tire that failed on landing🤣. Just like a YT video I recall..

This one time I was in a DC10 recurrent and we were doing the old partial DC loss where we had no anti skid. Of course we are heavy and the runway is not that long and they give us an issue that we are forced to land vs dumping. The trick is to get her down and gradually come on the brakes and feeling out the decel. Towards the end as we were slowing, he mentioned, you will always blow tires right before coming to a stop. Suddenly right before stopping in the last 100 feet, I started hearing multiple tire blows. I looked back and stated, that's more than 10! He was trigger happy back there and kept repeatedly hitting that tire blow command🤣.

Along with the PMDG I had FS Realistic add the rumbles and shakes. Best description of that roll would be an earthquake at a tea party. Fabulous.

Facts! Even with greasers, you get that creaking and squeaking as it settles.

Aahaha, there is this thing that turns decent  blokes into fiendish sadists when they are doing a checkout😁

Am glad it's finally getting close!👍

Two pages… nobody who bought this EA?

What’s the real status?

I bought a “complete” 717 a few years ago and it took another few years to be even decent.

While i agree it did take a little longer to be great, the 717 did end up being one of the planes I really did enjoy having in the hanger. So its clear they wont just release and leave the product behind. I'm looking forward to this one.

Don't you hate it when developers release many external views of their pending aircraft, but none of the cockpit or instrument panel which is where you spend most of your time.

After watching the May 2024 update video, you can understand why, it's not Fenix, Ini or JF A300B4

The CVR on the overhead looks like it's from Fallout

Yeah. I'll be waiting for the reviews.

Just imagine being in the cockpit and pushing up the power. The roar passing 80% N1 letting you know she is ready. All of the shaking, rattles, squeaks and thumping as she builds her stride. The multiple variations of nose wheel sounds as you thunder ahead. As you do an almost two pump pull on the yoke and the nose smoothly raises. The instant shuddering and spin noises you hear as the nose wheels depart the earth. That feeling of being pulled into the seat as she leaps upward. The VVI going from 500fpm down during rotation to about 2500 to 3500fpm up. Once the gear is selected up, the sounds and squeals of the slip stream around the nose gear doors as they come closed. That rumble and shudder in the floor and seats as the nose wheels come contact with the nose wheel spin pads. The long drawn out variation of nose wheel spin as the spin pads slow them down. I've heard and felt the wheel spin as high as 10,000ft when those pads get worn out. Good times!!!!

Oh, you could just as easily be talking about my favourite three holer the B727. The nosewheel sometimes sounded like it had broken off and was on its way to join us on the flight deck!! But we were sitting closer to it I guess than on the DC-10!

I'd give my right arm to experience a flight deck departure on the DC-10.   In the absence of that, I really appreciate your evocative description of this big bird taking to the air, written by someone whose has actually done that many times, (in the DC-10 at least ) and whose alertness during this phase of flight is nothing less than acute. Respect!

It is a beautiful aircraft although with a somewhat accident sullied history but I do hope TDFI do it justice. And, I do hope you're up to answering all the inane questions that the rest of us here will most likely be throwing your way. 🙂

I guess you will be buying it. If so, my first question, and others too, will be "What you think of the authenticity of the flight model of the TDFI MD-11?".  I recognise you may have never flown the MD-11 version, but I assume both the DC-10 and the MD-11 must be similar to fly?

Good times indeed. Thanks for your sharing your experience.👍

Cheers

Terry

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.

Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower!

Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-10700 CPU @2.90Ghz, 32GB RAM,  NVIDEA GeForce RTX 3060, 12GB VRAM, Samsung QN70A 4k 65inch TV with VRR 120Hz Free Sync (G-Sync Compatible).

Boeing Thrustmaster TCA Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, Turtle Beach Velocity One Rudder Pedals.

Looks like it’s coming along and an MD11 is exciting for sure, I recall flying the PMDG long ago. Very smart plane.

minor tidbit is the lack of animations between switches, like the overheard switches just instantly go to their position, I like when everything is animated so it feels a lot less static but that might just be me.

However, like all things flight sim I’ll wait for release and some reviews to come out. Especially with the price being above its peers but not including things like random failures.
