June 13, 20241 yr Hi guys! Since the start of MSFS I am mostly using the FlyByWire A32nx. Lately I added the LVFR birds with the HorizonMod, which mostly gives the same experience. Next to that I have some hardware, like a Skalarki FCU, Thrustmaster TCA sidestick/throttle/add-on and rudder peddals. I mostly do short flights (approx. 1 hour). I create a flightplan in MSFS and will be in the air in no-time. When Fenix came out, I did not buy it because my Skalarki hardware was not supported. I watched the product evolve over time and now with 3rd party hardware support, GSX integration (seated pax), Sim FX with the A320 effects coming I am reconsidering. I do not intend to use Simbrief but prefer a default MSFS plan (to use with the default ATC), retyping the flightplan is not an issue for me. I was digging the Fenix Discord yesterday, but most of the channels are locked and not much activity. Is that a concern? Would love to hear your thoughts!
June 13, 20241 yr If you definitely don't plan on using SimBrief, I'm not sure the Fenix makes sense for you. The SimBrief+GSX integration is an integral part of it in my opinion. The Discord channels are locked because you have to verify your purchase to access them.

June 13, 20241 yr The Fenix A320 is a must for me. Spend many hours with FlyByWire and also have a lot of hardware, FCU, MCDU Overhead etc connected to Fenix. In my mind the best add-on for the moment. Very detailed and it acts very real. Have also tried LVFR but the don´t come close in my mind. I using Mobiflight to connect to hardware works perfect. No concerns about their product or future, soon 321 etc 😀 Edited June 13, 20241 yr by chansen Regards Claus System : Varjo Aero, Intel i9 14900K 5,1 Ghz OC, RTX4090 24 GB, 64 GB RAM, 2 X M2 1TB, FS2020 https://claus34.wixsite.com/737sim https://flightsim.to/profile/chansen
June 13, 20241 yr Fenix is my favourite airliner and a must have IMHO, especially if you’ve invested in the Airbus hardware. The Skalarki gear now works well with it. It works seamlessly with Simbrief flightplans. I’m curious as to what your aversion is to using Simbrief? Makes everything easier than trying to fiddle with the default flightplaner. June 13, 20241 yr It is a really impressive simulation of the A320, and its seamless integration with Simbrief and the excellent EFB make it a very polished product. I'm going to be controversial here though.. I personally prefer the PMDG 737. I know they're not directly comparable, but they are both airliners serving the same market (similar range, routes etc). It's a more involved aircraft to operate and it's widely acknowledged that its one of the most performance friendly aircraft available for MSFS. The Fenix is super heavy on my system and can often times give me quite unfavourable fps. The PMDG 737 is butter smooth for me 99% of the time. Use the Simbrief Downloader to auto download the flight plan, and then load it in the world map planner screen. Then ATC will have the flight plan. Once you load into the game, then pull the flight plan from Simbrief via Fenix. Now both plane and ATC have the same flight plan and you’ll get ATC. It works pretty well for me 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
June 13, 20241 yr To Fenix. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I used to do that to import it into the aircraft. Never used MSFS ATC after my first attempt though. Alternatively make your plan in MSFS and find some way to put it into Simbrief (never tried, but I have used LNM flightplans there). As for Fenix I'd definitely recommend, although somewhat less if you have an aversion to Simbrief..... G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
June 13, 20241 yr Probably 9/10 flights in the last 12 months have been with Fenix. I'm sure I'll go through a PMDG phase again as well as another run with the 787's too.
