  • Well, just fired up the computer and bought this , and I have to say it's cracking. I've been waiting to try this for a while as I though it would be good, and it's actually better than I expected.

I have it now and I'm inclined to agree. I think this one is a bit special. And yes, you do feel like you are in a real aircraft which is so rare in MSFS. I actually feel excited about firing up MSFS

It's great in 2024. A very overlooked add on in my opinion. Challenging to fly well and stunning modelling, textures and sound.

A possible note of caution for European flyers - the manual (Pg 112) says the radio simulation has no support for 8.33khz frequencies.

Exactly what limitations this will place on using the plane in Europe I don't know myself but hopefully someone will be able to provide more information.

Oh and a note for the manual writer(s): a system in use across most of Europe probably still counts as "widely used" even if it's not used in the US.

I always have mixed feelings when plane ad says 'tested by real pilot'

Are we talking about real pilot certified for this particular plane or someone who flies C172 ?

We are talking about huuuuge difference.

BlackBird is the civilian sim spinoff from the now Military/Commercial-only MilViz.

These folks make several of the addons used in IRL military flight training programs. In Prepar3D, that included the USAF T-38A & T-38C (briefly offered to civs), the USN T-45A Goshawk (though they allowed India Foxt Echo to use their beautiful 3D model for MSFS, which sadly turned out as a rather lackluster port...), and this addon as well (neither offered to civs AFAIK), and a host of other military-only addons:

So, yeah, not only are their addons "tested by real pilot", they're used to train the IRL military aviators.

Good enough for real world military pilots, good enough for us, too.

One thing I like about the Texan is how when you turn on the Avionics (bloooot bloooot) the screens become dials.

Similar to the civilian KLN90B but not exactly. More functionality as I understand it. Manual for the T-6A GPS is at their website for download.

Small correction to be pedantic: it's the T-45C.

If I speak for my company without permission the boss will nail me down. So unless otherwise specified...Im just a regular simmer who expresses his personal opinion

Hi, firstly is there a way to set the weight for the pilot and Instructor, using the EFB, without having the in-copckpit

pilot models displaying - as they block the view and I can't get to some of the switches ?

Secondly, following the checklist for startup, when I click on the Avionics switch to turn the Avionics ON

I get absolutely no displays at all . . I have tried uninstalling and re-installing a couple of times now.

Any help would be grateful

So is there no love for this one at all? Doesn't seem to have made much of a mark in any of the forums.

I'm over these tandem two seater single engine types personally...we have enough of them in MSFS already.
