"Good Day to You" is driving me crazy!

Featured Replies

I think everyone should sign their posts "Good day to you" for the next 24 hours. 🤭

I'd agree that the best solution would be to disable one of the add-ons which might be causing the audio mystery before flying the same number of flights you'd typically have before the voice announcement occurs, and continue the experiment with one add-on disabled each time until it actually happens. There shouldn't be too many of those kinds of add-ons installed, so hopefully it won't take long to discover the culprit.

Yeah that makes sense. Trial and error to figure it out.

Good day to you.

Never heard of anything like it, so I’ll go with the possessed theory.

Good day to you!

Rocky, do you get the feeling that some folks ain't taking your predicament seriously? 😁

The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

Perhaps the issue is the result of code reuse, similar to the reuse of parts from the flight crash of Eastern Airlines flight 401 👻

And "Good day to you".

Cheers

I think I recognise this, Rocky. Is it coming from the first flight attendant who stands by the door to welcome the passengers? I've noticed her voice a lot more since the latest GSX update.

Sure, that's what I thought, but it's a bloke! Also, the volume is not like it's some distance away, it's full on, 'in your face!' I did take a look at FSRealistic and changed the cockpit ambience. It may be that. I did it yesterday on a short test flight. I will check it out later today on a proper flight.

Its a bloke? In that case I would call the Vatican

I get a voice which says "good day to you" completely at random after clicking a button. It happens on different buttons and so is difficult to pin down. Is it a GSX thing, FScrew, which I haven't been using recently, I don't know. This has been happening for some time now, and frankly, is driving me crazy!

That is a sign! Higher forces of PMDG are trying to establish contact with you and therefore greet you. 🙂

Joke aside that must be a problem with FScrew. I use none of these extra programs and never had this bug, so the bug must relate to one of these two. Because GSX is not talking my guess is FScrew.

Hmm, yeah. It still happened today after not using FSrealistic. I really don't think it has any connection with GSX. It sounds like it may come from FS2crew, even though I have not been using it. It really is very odd.

Could you post a video?  Maybe someone will recognize it.

Good day to you.
