July 31, 20241 yr I've not looked into the driver issue in detail, but from what I have seen, it seems like it is only VR users who may have a problem with the latest driver. I am using the newest one and did not notice any difference to the previous one. MSFS is running smoothly and trouble free for me this morning (famous last words 😀). I was looking in the library for Microsoft Gaming Services and not finding it at first. Well it solved mine 😉 and that was what I said " gaming services"... Sometimes the automatic update routine is a bit later so manual check could solve the issue 😉 The search here local with or without the caps returns the same results... But simply choose get updates will automatically check all xbox related to MSFS stuff anyway, besides the in games updates Edited July 31, 20241 yr by virtualstuff André

July 31, 20241 yr I've just uninstalled the OpenXR toolkit, and the game now launches fine. Not sure what that means for VR use yet though. I'm gonna try it out shortly.
July 31, 20241 yr Yesterday, July 30, I launched the sim intending to do a little flying. After launching the sim I came back to the computer ten minutes later and found that it still had not finished loading as one of the "splash" pages was still showing on the screen, so I left it to finish. When I returned 15 minutes later nothing had changed, same "splash" screen, still appears to be loading. I decided to shut down the program via the Task Manager manually as the whole process seemed to be frozen. Later in the day I heard about the problems Microsoft/Azure were having. Later in the evening after reading that some of the problems had been resolved, I tried to activate the sim again. Everything seemed to start up okay and I used the "safe mode" as I had manually shut it down earlier. As others have reported, everything seemed to be going okay and it appeared to be loading, then halfway through the loading it crashed and I was back at my computer home screen. I tried it again a couple of times in the evening both "safe mode" and "normal mode" but the result was the same, crashes during the loading process. I have tried a couple of times today July 31, and nothing has improved, still the same, even though I've heard that the network problems yesterday have mostly been corrected. I don't have any 3rd party scenery or airports loaded but do have a few 3rd party aircraft. This is the first big problem I have had with sim since I got it in 2020. it was working fine up until July 30. Any ideas would be welcome.
July 31, 20241 yr Variations on this type of hangs etc. have been around in one form or another since day one. I believe that they will always be with us 'in one form or another' until the end of time. Which, the way things are shaping up, won't be long! 😁 If you take out all the posts relating to 'My sim wont start' and delete them, this forum would be half the size it is. 😃 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

If you read my posts above yours, you'll see what I did to get it working. It may not be of benefit to you. But if you are a VR/Oculus user, I would recommend disabling or uninstalling the OpenXR Toolkit. Then try again.

Actually I did read your post but as I hadn't used VR in the last year nor the Open XR Toolkit I didn't think it applied in my case. Anyway I thought it wouldn't hurt to try after reading your response. Opened the OpenXR Toolkit App and disabled it rather than delete it, started up the flight sim and woopee, it loaded up beautifully. Thanks for your help.
August 1, 20241 yr My MSFS would not open earlier today. I used a trick I learned awhile ago. Change the loading screen to windowed and drag the edges until the size is smaller than the screen. About 1" showing on the 4 sides of my 32" monitor. MSFS will then open OK for me. Otherwise when I didn't do this, it progressed to the loading screen and blue bar went about 3/4 the way across and just stopped. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. August 1, 20241 yr ... and then when MSFS boots up I switch back to full screen. Today I do that with Ctrl Alt S which is the shortcut to turn on LSFG which runs in full screen. Never have I seen MSFS perform this great! 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Are you running DX11 since using LSFG? or DX12, Since you have also a RTX4Xxx... Myself have native FG in MSFS and DX12 (RTX4070TI) between 80 and 135 FPS (DLSS + DLAA + preset F) so happy because it works with Gsync 😎 So I don't see a reason here local to chase for more FPS, prefer quality instead... DX 12 (because I use DLSS. In normal areas and normal planes I can set it to DLAA, otherwise Quality). For TAA DX 11 is the way to go. I never have liked TAA (it cuts down performance drastically on my system). With native FG and a 4070 not ti, I don't get 85 to 135. I get about 45 to 70, half of what you do. So LSFG is a big improvement for me. But until the 2.2 version of LSFG I never liked using it (artifacts). Now, I don't see any with 2.2. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
