While we're all waiting, I want to give a shoutout to the people at VirtualFRA as well as Aviotek that both provided us with free versions of EDDF. Both of these are vast improvements over the handcrafted version and I have enjoyed them both during many flights. Thanks!!

Having watched 320 Sim Pilot's video linked above, I'd agree with a lot on Chewwy's list.

I realise it's still WIP, yet I hope the items on Cheewy's list are actioned. The attention to detail and having very few errors/ommissions are what makes a Jo Sund airport a high quality one.

Impressive: four years of development yet an useful AFCAD is still not available on release? No, due to FSLTL and AIG this is nowadays one of the main criteria for me to buy or not to buy a scenery. I can wait some longer...

Looks excellent like all of Jo Erlend‘s airports. I wonder if there are going to be animated ICE high-speed trains. That‘d be cool.

I think there's a misunderstanding here: AIUI it wasn't Cheewy who compiled the list, it was given to him by the developers. Look at the way some of the items are worded, e. g. "night lighting in general is still being worked on".

So given that the list comes from the developers themselves, I think we can be optimistic that the items on the list will be worked on. 

That leads me to wonder, why release now?  It’s been years in development, what’s a bit more time to address these last issues?

Because: Aerosoft. Seems to be still the same bunch of amateurs behind decisions like this, even if the biggest one switched to a competitor. 

How in the modern day, does an airport of this type and quality get released without airport codes?? Such a super simple thing to do yet its not done after all this time. Odd. 

The way I see it is that Chewwy and other streamers were given an evaluation copy at one point with the list shown above indicating what still needed completing. The product page at Aerosoft clearly states that GSX profile and AI airline codes are included.

Totally agree on this.

Release it a few weeks later and first fix the issues on the list.

Hopefully they don’t sell an early access version and after that it takes a year to complete the fixes.

I am not sure why this is so hard to understand.

The YouTubers mentioned were given a pre-release preview copy of the airport, which means that it was not finished. Hence, they were (as it's industry standard) also provided a list of items that were not complete by the time they were provided the copy, but will likely be included by when the airport releases, so that they could mention it in their coverage. 

The fact that an item is in the list does not mean it won't be in the release version of the airport so the calls for "delay the airport" make zero sense. That's not how this works. 

I haven't watched the videos (no time), but I imagine the YouTubers explained this. If they didn't, that's on them.

this has been aerosoft procedure for over 10 years to release unaccurate afcads, not to mention wrong runways on numerous sceneries in their p3d days.

yet when we complain people have always said (including mods on here) we shouldnt complain because they are just publishers and in theory they dont need to do quality control, this is one of the reasons over the last 10-15 years products are released unfinished in the idea/hope they will be patched, sometimes they do, more often than not they dont.  

as ive said over and over again, as a community weve let it happen, and dev's are going to continue to make unfinished products, they been given a carte blanche to do it.
