Gotta give them credit for the attention to detail. I choose a small airport in Japan to trip them up, but I found signs in Japanese, the instructor with the right ethnicity, and even a realistic Japanese registration on the aircraft. 👍

 

SO the test in 10k credits and it looks like the user starts off with 40k credits after the 1st lesson. Curious how quickly one earns credit and what happens if the user tries and fails the test 4 times which would bring the user credits to zero.

Of all the prior sims which have at times offered lessons, I find this particular way something that would be very benefitting to anyone new to flying and rewarding and enjoyable to us vets. While I have my PPL in RL, we still have to do flight reviews so its not like once one gets their PPL they never have to demonstrate basics in flying ever again so I'm really looking forward to this new aspect of the sim.

 

I think free flight might assign you a random tailnumber now if you don’t provide one.

I watched a handful of videos of people do free fights, and they all had different numbers instead of the ASXBGS or whatever it is that 2020 gives you right now if you don’t provide one.

its entire possible all of them customized their tail number before flying, but I doubt it.

 regional tail numbers do exist in 2020, they’re used for the default offline AI traffic

Why are the tracks left in snow and sand black on the videos we've been shown?

I would expect to see compacted snow/sand - not black tracks. Perhaps it's a lighting thing - or a bug with that build?

I did see compacted grass when someone was taxiing though long grass - that looked right.

I think I saw that a couple of times but it was snow on a runway. I've seen other places where the tracks in the snow remained white so not sure if it is a big or not.

That also struck me. I agree with Krakin, I think that‘s because there‘s tarmac underneath. I saw two screenshots that showed tracks in deep snow and they looked realistic. I only saw one video with tracks in sand and they looked much too dark - like some weird lighting side effect.

I think it maybe a lighting thing - we will see anyway soon enough.

I don't want to appear negative but I've noticed another thing 🤔

On Avangels glider video the pop-up with the grass, crops etc is really close - once you notice you cannot unsee it. Additionally the glider shadow cast on the ground is really weird - and has that black trailing ghost look. 

 

Glass is half full still - and I'm super excited 😆 

I'm not a Rivet Counter by nature, and I realize things are still in development, buuuuut...

I can't unsee the utter lack of wing flex in the DreamLifter (a shame since it seems well done in the Max):

That kind of thing was happening when 2020 was being teased and it turned out alright. Don't come to a conclusion based on a still photo

Yep, not a conclusion, just a surprising oversight when I see most of the other big iron with flex already. 👍

And can you tell I have a thing for heavy airlift...? 😂
