The video in question is here with the following mods.. not a single touch nor tamper with MSFS's exe.
Not even sure which "suspicious hack" of an addon they are even referring to.🙄

DC Designs F-15

Touching Cloud Air Show Assistant (Here I am wanting to support Market Place)

REX Atmos

  • Wow, you just described memory injection, external code making executions within an authorised process, Specifically PE Injection. It runs on a similiar principle to ARPC which depends on .DLL injecti

  • It quite literally is.. it’s a memory injection tool which is against TOS. Many companies do not officially support memory injection tools because they’re not using the SDK and thus what they’re doing

Correct.  We absolutely DO NOT do any memory injection, hacking, or non-SDK/accepted practices for ASFS.  This is why we did not release ASFS for so long and why it was such a challenge.  We had to fi

Notice how there's very little/if any posts on Rex Atmos over there (quick search didn't see much), bet it has to do with that App.

Anyone who is very familiar with MSFS knows which apps modify their code and which do not. Their moderators are not very familiar with MSFS. They know a lot about forums and civility but are mostly uninformed about the sim itself and how it works. They silenced my messages 3 times over this same bogus issue.

Their moderators are not stupid. Just uniformed. Which is a different thing entirely.

REX and HiFi have been working around limitations to P3D, XPlane, MSFS for years … I know developers who had work-arounds to SDK limitations only to be confronted by Microsoft partner rep as “not a good fit” and then proceed to block the work-around process … as in specifically prevent it … welcome to Microsoft.

I find that unacceptable honestly, but I'm not surprised!
Meanwhile simple users like us get caught in the crossfire and placed under "Top Secret MS/Asobo Investigation" 😂
Like sheesh I couldn't just get a simple warning/ notification of this the first time?
I purposely posted it again to trigger a response from whomever was behind it!
Staff over there acting like a simple video somehow broke international law or Geneva Conventions🤣
No sort of courtesy was received so here we are with it publicly.

The moderators here would probably fail a job interview for msfs official forum sysop. Their rejection slip might read "Sorry, but you are overqualified".

@blueshark747 are you new to the official forums?  Their policy about this is nothing new / no drama -- it's just their weird policy.  I can only shrug my shoulders at it -- but that hurts my right shoulder, so I won't  😄

What do you think we are talking about here? REX Atmos is an official payware addon.
As far as the actual exe color/tone edits that were going around a while back well yes of course we know that was frowned upon and against TOS.
Now as far as an official payware product that has obviously somehow passed MS/Asobo's product vetting, to hit the market as an official addon and not be hit with a prompt C&D legal action from MS/Asobo?
How in the heck are customers supposed to know an official REX product isn't even allowed to post or talk about on the forums?  REX Atmos isn't some exe hack, it's official payware from a long standing developer of 3rd Party Microsoft Flight Sim Series products. That's why I'm taking this all the way to the top, its a totally vile, toxic and walk on eggshells environment over there about this particular payware product. Either we can use it legally in MSFS or we can not! We are not developers nor legal analyst we are the paying customers of all this software.

No, it's not. It's neither part of the official releases by Microsoft as a second party add-on to download for free, nor is it available to purchase as a third party add-on, from the MSFS Marketplace. Therefore not 'official'.

In fact, MS considers Rex Sim products to be lesser than those of 4Simmers, Aeroplane Heaven and Dreamscenery. Discussions on Atmos can be had on this sub-forum here, Discord, Reddit, Facebook, etc. instead.

MS' game, MS' rules. The end.

Wow! No idea REX products were regarded by Microsoft as such lesser, shaky, and questionable grey area addon products.
Surprised this 77 page thread titled "The REX ATMOS discussion topic" is even allowed there?🤷‍♂️🙃
