October 26, 20241 yr Author Here it is in a jet fighter so that the close up scenery is moving faster. At about he 1:40 he says stable and high fps once the scenery loads. I found the same thing, you have to wait in the parking area for the scenery to load. You can't see it loading, but it is. This is different than 2020 because scenery is in the cloud. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Upgraded my router today. 4Gbps internet will be installed Friday! Cool can you install maybe more than a 56K connection for Asobo and Microsoft while you are at it? 🤣(Their servers will be our pain point) Edited October 26, 20241 yr by UAL4life
October 26, 20241 yr Author My internet is 400bps. When 2020 was released it was 50bps and the sim ran fine most of the time, except when the neighbors were all online at the same time and 50 became maybe 12. It all comes down to price per month for internet speed. With 200 bps, FS2024 should run fine all the time, except when the problem is at the other end, in the cloud where servers are being overloaded. When that happens, everybody will have problems. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. October 26, 20241 yr I used to only get 30-40 Mbps in MSFS on my 1.5 gigabit internet without a VPN, and then after the release of either SU14 or 15, I started getting 100-200, sometimes even over 300 sometimes without a VPN. I don't know if they changed something client side or just upgraded the closest server to me. Before that I used a VPN when updating just to get decent speeds. Edited October 26, 20241 yr by Tuskin38
October 26, 20241 yr Author I wonder if DCS, IL2, X-Plane, Aerofly FS will ever move to the cloud. If not, they will have a hard time competing in the future. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. The upgrade was for more than 2024, as we have a lot of devices sucking on our internet. We experienced slowdowns from time to time, but after this upgrade the speeds throughout the house are amazing. I upgraded the router, added 2.5Ghz switches and added some cat6 cables. Should be good for the next 5 years. Agree 100% that the servers will decide the outcome. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro
October 28, 20241 yr Sorry but I don't know if there is some sort of mass delusion going on but the live weather looks exactly as in current FS2020. How can people praise the same weather issues they criticized before as now being "tremendous" and "stunning" just because it has a 2024 sticker on it? For context this is from 2020 before SU5 (2021). The lighting was way more realistic and the clouds way more detailed stretching to the horizon. How can anyone say 2024 is an improvement over this? October 28, 20241 yr No delusion here, simply waiting for the full release and not relying on the Tech Alpha to determine any sort of conclusions regarding Live Weather, let's wait and see eh!? Sure, but you can't look at a few screenshots and say that everyone (and there are hundreds or thousands of people across the web) saying good things about the improved weather is somehow delusional. Bit harsh, don't you think? In any case, in just a few days we will all have access to the full version and you can check it out for yourself. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

How can anyone say 2024 is an improvement over this? I saw weather like that in the Alpha, and I see it in 2020 occasionally. Not all the time, but sometimes everything lines up and it renders like that again. Also that third image I'm pretty sure is custom weather, not live. Edited October 28, 20241 yr by Tuskin38

October 28, 20241 yr Call me delusional but in my time with the Alpha, I saw better clouds than anything Asobo was able to muster before. Are there still issues? Yes. Is cloud density much better? Absolutely! 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
