Are you really being serious? There were obviously features missing from the tech alpha, as it was testing server loads. Why do you think that fact means everything in the apha is worse than MSFS 2020? I think you'll need a fast motorbike and long ramp to make that leap. The clouds and lighting in the alpha were clearly an advance over 2020. There is no "supposed" about it. The tech alpha was not to showcase anything, it was to test server load. Of course Asobo knew people would post videos and screenies of it. There was no prohibition to doing that, so why not? You are misunderstanding a bunch of people in this thread. If it's released and things don't work, you can bet just about everyone here will be with you. But unless/if/until that happens, it is jumping the gun to draw conclusions about MSFS2024 based on a technical alpha. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

October 29, 20241 yr This is why you never EVER release partial builds of a major new project into the public domain. Vet your testers, retain and PAY them. The idea that you'd need a stampede of random users to perform stress testing stretches belief these days. You could negate almost all that with old fashioned project design and in house testing/computer modelling . The general public are not going to do what you expect and just fly around random areas to test your server loads. Instead they are going to stick to one or two small areas and complain that the fauna is wrong or the controls don't work with their bespoke setup. Russell Gough SE London
October 29, 20241 yr Yeah the whole thing was bizarre. I had a rubbish time flying around in a stuttery mess with bad textures and after a few hours gave up and fired up MSFS2020. I obviously knew it was a tech demo but it put me right off purchasing the final product.

The tech alpha looked better and ran smoother for me than 2020 Though that’s probably because I didn’t have any addons installed

Thats why it required your DXDIAG file From what I remember, they just wanted to ensure that we met the minimum specs required. It really was down to it being a server test more than anything. In terms of bug reports, they only wanted to know if anything was preventing us from running the sim. All they wanted was telemetry. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
