I'm sure there will be a post mortem and will be interesting to hear if they underestimated initial day(s) user load. If they promised better release state than 2020 in terms of quality of default aircraft and avionics and other actual sim quality issues, then the jury is still out. Today is not the time to argue or defend anything. The Infrastructure is so unstable that thousand of simmers even cannot access the product at all. all those that had concerns were right, the rest is wishful thinki ng

November 20, 20241 yr Yup the launch was horrible but it has started working for some folks in the past ten min or so. I am able to see all my planes and log in - took like 3 min only! 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

Gonna be really interested to hear what went wrong.. did MS/Asobo underestimate the initial load of users? Did they underestimate the quantity of load per user of those who'd be installing and going thru all the initial cloud->client transfers? Or did they have the right estimates for initial day(s) use but MS and infrastructure team didn't allocate enough server-side resources? Either way it must suck for the Asobo devs how server-side issues has dampened their launch day. But then again also gratifying the immense amount of interest and users the sim has. He was acting like an MS/Asobo attack dog at anyone offering the slightest concern. Maybe just human nature when you accept special hospitality. Anyway, as much as we didn't want this to happen, the suspicions were there. It is such a shame. Some people are saying this is a cash grab, or bait and switch, it really isn't. It is simply down to a lack of foresight by some part of the team, and there is no malice involved. Jorg must be truly saddened. He has put his heart and soul into this project. He looked really stressed and tired in a video the other day though. You could say it's natural before a launch, but no, he looked troubled like he had concerns himself. There was a certain look behind his eyes, and he was trying to paint a cautious picture and talk about fixing things up quickly after launch. I really hope he wasn't forced by the bean counters to push it out of the door come what may, but it probably makes no difference anyway, as the sim will get fixed up at the same rate as if they had postponed the launch. These launch day server capacity issues are nothing to do with the functoning of the core sim, so they shouldn't be conflated. hopefully we will be able to look back and laugh about it in the not too distant future. It will all be fixed. There is no other option. He was TRIGGERED. And you are right. No malice on the part of MS or Asobo. I am sure they feel bad about this and are working around the clock to get issues resolved. It must have been the bean counters. No way the team would have released it like this. Jorg knew this was going to be bad, but the train was leaving the station regardless of what he said. Like I said in my post, I am not saying this is a bad thing. The black eye will eventually be forgotten or at least forgiven! And now the rest of the sim must be whipped into release state. These developers love to spend eternity at 95% complete, but the reality is that you must release it to finish it. Ask me how I know lol. I have the utmost respect and confidence in this team. Someone up the food chain forced their hands, and we have this debacle to thank for it. But these guys will sort it out. Epic train wreck though! All too common these days, and I feel bad for them. But things will improve. Just needs a few months. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

Why they changed the system is anyone's guess because we never had a real answer. That then leaves room for the sceptics to ask "why, what don't they want us to see?" I think they ran out of time. They could not have an open beta, which would have only proven that it wasn't ready, and then it would have delayed the launch. They went with plan Z. Just release the sucker lol. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

November 20, 20241 yr " We have worked hard with our partners, including Asobo and others, to bring you an amazing sim experience. The excitement for the sim today has been overwhelming, but we encountered an issue with one of our services handling the new systems in the game like career mode and various missions. The server responsible for handling data requests got overloaded, causing delays and errors. As a result, players are experiencing long loading times and missing content like aircraft. We have solved the issues and are now bringing players in at a steady pace. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. We will keep you updated on our social channels, forums, and website. Thank you very much for all your feedback and support." https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/discussion-hub/general-discussion/142 Latest post just now.
