November 20, 20241 yr And if it does not yet exist on my system after initial MSFS2024 install, how to create/initialize it? So far I cannot locate it after finally successfully installing and starting MSFS2024. I am by no means a novice! November 20, 20241 yr Why on earth doesn't MSFS 2024 give you the option of specifying the Community Folder location during the install?
November 20, 20241 yr Because Addon Linker just moves folder links from folders to another folder, it should work equally well in fs2024 with not many changes. If you want to use AL also for 2024, just create a new shortcut to the new EXE (MSFS_AddonsLinker_2024.exe). You will then be able to set your specific settings for 2024 (the community folder will be different). You can use the same source folders for both versions if the addons are compatible between the 2 versions to avoid duplicating files. Both versions can be run at the same time if needed (for example if you want to copy your settings). November 20, 20241 yr Hi, I can't find the Community folder either! The path described in this post does not exist in my case. G:\MS2024\Limitless\Content ... ? And no community folder whatsoever!
November 20, 20241 yr Install the EVERYTHING app. It's brilliant for anyone wanting to find anything on the increasingly cryptic Windows platform. Install as service to work best. Then search for ...well you don't need any help with that! Russell Gough SE London

" https://flightsim.to/file/1572/msfs-addons-linker SO, does this mean I can keep my AL folder for 2020 and just copy the new AL version into another folder to be used for 2024? To one per MSFS? EDIT reading helps. so AL comes with 2 exes, one for 2020 and one for 2024. good, will try EDIT2 Moving the Community Folder worked seemingly, created F:\MSFS2024\Packages (since I let install MSFS2024 obviously in F:\MSFS2024) so I have all in once place, like it tidy. Made changes to that cfg and MSFS2024 restarts, activiated packages (again) and now I am in the main menu. Next will be trying to link AL2024 to that new community folder... EDIT3 seems to work, added ini LOWI and it not only shows up in 2024 but also seems to work EDIT4 they had a long way to LOWI... EDIT5 ini LOWI needs to be delete, it is not fully compatible with the landclasses, found big holes in the taxiway and bumps on the rwy Edited November 20, 20241 yr by DAD Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
