November 22, 20241 yr it worked perfectly fine for me the last 3 days, but today the sim has locked up 4 times with no real pattern to it. Three different airports, same aircraft, the A400M, but I did a 3 hour flight in it yesterday with no issues. Edited November 22, 20241 yr by Tuskin38

Not your fault that it had to be long winded of course, but excellent workaround which I shall try tomorrow. Strange that it had to replace the easier method of clicking one button in its predecessor but hopefully they will reintroduce that at some stage. Thanks again. I took part in the tech alpha and saw it for myself: Long load times, terrible looking things due to stuff not loading in, Terrible UI, Control profiles for the most popular sim products missing which then requires you to remap EVERYTHING. Kept my mouth shut because i sincerely thought that with all the positive noise going on while the tech alpha was open my issues with the sim was the exception to what everyone else was seeing. ......Absolutely no one responded to my concerns. I saw RobC's posts at the time and he was pretty much tarred and feathered. One can argue that maybe he was being overly negative.. but was he being unreasonably cautious about singing praises about an unreleased product..? probably not. That's a very honest post and it's indicative of a classic case of group think, peer pressure and exactly why so-called "influencers" and testers are under great pressure to follow the hype or be outcast. I must say that many youtubers must also carry the can for contributing to the hype, too frightened to point out the flaws and always caving in to pressure to report the good and not the bad. This is very different from FS2020 which though flawed on release, did actually load and offer a reasonable experience. But again, this most of all demonstrates that Asobo and Microsoft seem uninterested in testing their own product. You cannot rely on Beta or Alpha testers. You HAVE to check your own work and you need top level management that has a grip on quality control. Also, why the rush. Releasing a product like this WAY before it is anything near ready is just storing up reputational and financial disasters. November 23, 20241 yr "Loading unusually long: log saved to Report-loading.toml" and stuck on 97% during sim startup this evening. I was actually enjoying the sim earlier for a few hours today, and it is impressive when it works. But now at 8:30pm EST I can't even get into the menus. The good news is that the log message indicates that this is a problem that is being logged and tracked. The bad news is that such a log message indicates this is a common enough problem that it clearly needs to be logged and tracked. It really is not acceptable that you can't even start the program at certain times due to server overloads. It's a shame, because there is clear potential when things work - but this isn't a gym membership. You shouldn't have to wait in a queue just to access the software. - Kevin Windows 11 / Ryzen 7 9800X3D / MSI RTX-4080 Super 16G Ventus 3X / Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite WiFi 7 / Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro / 64GB Lexar ARES Gen2 RGB DDR5 6000Mhz CL30 RAM / Dell Alienware AW3418DW WQHD 3440x1440 GSync / Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 2TB (OS) & 860 EVO 4TB SDD / WD Caviar Black 4TB HDD / EVGA Supernova 850 G5 PSU / Be Quiet Light Base 600 LX case / Virpil Warbird base with Constellation Alpha grip / MFG Crosswind rudder pedals / Virtual-Fly TQ6+ throttle quadrant / Winwing Orion HOTAS F-18 Throttle / Virpil TCS+ collective base with Hawk-60 grip / Saitek Trim Wheel / Saitek Radio and Switch Panels / Winwing Combat Ready Panel / Tobii 5
November 23, 20241 yr What solved the control mapping issue for me was using the duplicate option. Create a new profile for the middle one only (duplicate it). Only ever use the duplicate one, just leave the old one there without deleting it, but never use it. Edited November 23, 20241 yr by Alpine Scenery AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram
November 23, 20241 yr As far as others bugs go, West Virginia pop-ups are back baby! This time instead of those triangular looking things, we have what appears to be cabbage patch cliffs growing out of trees. Check out KCRW - Yeager Airport @ Charleston, WV, the entire city is one giant cabbage patch cliff artifact. Of course it could have just been a streaming issue, but I have only flown it once. Strange, the same addons in COMMUNITY had worked flawlessly in the original first MSFS 2024 version before todays hotfix. November 23, 20241 yr For every inibuild airplane, but never tried the A400, the sim is freezing after a flight and trying to go back to the main screen. Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).
November 23, 20241 yr I think the origin of a lot of issues (other than having the supply/demand of bandwitdth in order)is; Change management Other than some alpha testing there are no explainers or show cases (either by MS or the youtubers) where the changes between 2020 en 2024 are explained. Result is that every one expects that every thing is the same, but it just slightly different.
