Problem list with FS2024 so far

Featured Replies

Does anyone else have this issue with addons in the Community folder?

Add ons won't work for me unless I zoom in on the map to the airport and wait 30 seconds for the buildings to load in. If I try to spawn at a gate before that finishes it just gets stuck in the load screen.

For the longest time I was just struggling to get any of my airports to work until doing this.

  • Well, this isn't going to take 5 minutes to fix-up is it?  I expect it could be well into next year.  I see people saying we need to be patient, and patience is a virtue.  Well, if wasting my life a

  • and yet some people couldnt wait to uninstall 2020.

  • 😄, posting goodbye threads and Youtube videos.  I saw this coming a mile away (a total cloud sim 🤨).  It might be March 2025 before I dive in (maybe next summer).

I'm guessing whatever issue A330 Driver had with the 737 must have been server related because it's flying smooth for me.

How long did you wait before giving up? Because I never got stuck but it did take longer to load compared to streamed assets.

Also suffering from no engine sounds from any plane. Anyway to fix it?

Has there been any update in last couple of hours? All my planes have sounds for the first time. The only thing I did different between not having them and having them was I played around with graphic settings changing a load from high to ultra, including texture resolution and then restarted sim. Now I have sound again.

The new problem I'm having is in career mode, when moving an aircraft or helicopter to a new destination to fly missions (which apparently is required) the helo appears to be just bouncing around until it crashes.

This has the following effects:

Fails the mission. Destroys the aircraft I purchased for the company. Ruins my pilot reputation scores. And then crashes the sim.

Not. Ready.

The problems are many for sure.  I have been going through the various aircraft to see which ones are actually going to be flyable.  The list so far is very short, the top so far is the SF50 Vision Jet which I owned in 2020.  I have noticed that even though at night there are aircraft light reflections for strobes/beacon there no actual lights on the aircraft.  No beacon and no nav lights on any of the aircraft I have tried so far (did not check the lights on the airliners yet).  Really strange how simple things like this are missed....

Anyone been flying light aircraft such as the Baron or Bonanza etc?

The flight model is absolutely atrocious.  Flight is not stable whatsoever and I get violent lateral forces left and right.  Completely unstable.  All of this is in perfect (no wind) weather.

I flew some circuits in the Baron and had no issues.

Seems good to me. Are you sure you haven’t got a binding conflict for these planes?

Yes,  I found the Cessna 172 and a number of other aircraft in MSFS24  throwing un-commanded wing drops at me until I found and corrected some binding conflicts. Now flies very much like my very distant recall of flying IRL. So happy chappy here in that respect although like most still plagued by laggardly central server related problems.

Inconsistent sound is almost certainly linked to server-side issues. Probably nothing you did, you are just at the mercy of what is going on in the cloud. I think that is true for nearly everyone's issues at the moment - it all depends on what is going on in the server at any given time.

Agreed fully.

This is reminds me of the 56k modems of old, hoping your dial in was routed through a fast solid connection.

LOL yes - for awhile it was like winning the lottery when you finally connected to AOL after umpteen number of tries!

Have tried FS24 for the last few days.

I'm amazed at what it can do, when it does it well. However the main issue is the streaming of aircrafts. I really think the simobjects/aircrafts needs to be local, not streamed.

Inibuilds have really outdone themselves, and is the highlight of the new sim with their Airbuses which are fantastic for default inclusions.

I wish on the Boeing side - they need to correct the F/O PFD. This has been a sore eye point since the 787 in FS2020 and it's the same issue in the MAX and 787 still. Need the option to unmirror this.

Hopefully this can be offered as an option.

Cheers,

Chen

I wished the library had a toggle between keeping a package streamed or locally downloaded. I don't need all the aircraft locally but those often used it's a waste of bandwidth to re-download everything every time.

Issues that are bugging me at the moment, which might have been mentioned;

- Cockpit mouse look has some bad mouse acceleration going on

- Cockpit freelook speed option affects mouse look and HAT axis view speed, so if you want your HAT view axis to be same speed as in 2020 or faster, it'll make the mouse look really fast. Combined with the acceleration, I can barely use my mouse in cockpit, as it's very sensitive and it quick snaps the view 180c or more due to the above-mentioned acceleration

So even the fundamentals of just looking around has become a headache.
