I changed it this way but it reverts to the original c drive location every time I open the game.

  • The download function is currently disabled as they work through marketplace/server issues. Should be enabled once these are working. Maybe a few weeks? Maybe sooner. Hard to say. (maybe months!!)

  • Select the place where you want the new Community folder to be...  so in my case I had installed MSFS 2024 on my D drive.  Here:  D:\MSFS In the sim I clicked on that location and exited the sim.

in the not installed item I can view the packages but I can't install them. Any suggestions?

And the reverse: How do I prevent the sim from streaming a bespoke airport from the servers if I want to use a 3rd Party option instead? Haven't figured that one out.

Is anything in your new community folder?

My SSD drive is slowly but steadily filling up. Would anyone recommend to link the community folder to a regular separate HD, or should I keep it on the SSD? I have a pretty hefty system and don’t want this decision to impact performance, so I’d appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance,

Pete

I think that you are almost certain to see a performance hit given the transfer rate of an SSD is 500 MBps and upwards to 3,500 MBps whereas HD's are limited to 30-150 MBps. Im in the same position as you at the moment and I think I will bite the bullet and buy a bigger SSD.

Even though I changed the path on the .cfg file, I still don't see anything showing up in my library from the community folder. MSFS24 doesn't seem to notice it, and in the library it does show the correct path on the D Drive. I tried installing FT CYYZ and it doesn't show up in the game.

Cheers, Pete

Hi,

Be careful!

I changed the path of my Community folder to the drive I have installed MS2024.

But, later (and not related to that, I suppose) I had a CTD and MS2024 reverted the Community folder to the C drive!

Greetings

I just noticed that mine has defaulted back - and prior to that I had a CTD.

In the mean time I’m still to get any addons to work, but have only tried a couple - inc Pilot plus EGGD

New PC Ryzen 9850X3D - 32gb ddr5 6000Mhz - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk wifi - Gigabyte wind force gaming OC 5090 - 2TB Sabrent NVMe. Old PC - Ryzen 5900x - 32gb 3600Mhz RAM - Asus Strix X570-F Motherboard - ASUS TUF OC RTX 3090 - 1TB Sabrent NVMe. AOC AGON 32" 144Hz - Honeycomb Yoke - Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. T Flight Rudder Pedals - Trackir.

Ok I have the same issue I think, gui points to new community folder, and if I open that in the gui it does indeed open the right folder- which has pilot plus eggd in it - but it doesn’t work.

What is that "Official2020" folder for  ?

This is purely a guess/observation, but on my system it certainly looks like the stuff I bought from the store in MSFS2020. This would be reasonable as store purchases go in the official, not the community, folder.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

I have changed the location of the community folder using both methods, in the library settings, and in the user, cfg fle. And no matter what I do it continuously changes back to the c drive.

I even uninstalled and reinstalled msfs20224 making sure the correct drives were notated on my PC in the xbox app.

Any ideas??

Mine defaulted back once as well, I believe after looking it up on the Library screen..

Did you manage to get the Blacksquare Duke fully working in MSFS2024?
