November 21, 20241 yr Wow !!!!!! Great. I see that addon linker has also released a update for FS2024. Can't wait to get back home and download FS and apply all new updates. I'm hoping that we can have majority of 2020 to 2024 updates by the summer of next year. No problem! Sure, unless they are searching/filtering via MSFS 2024 tags like we're told to do, in which case, this is just one of a thousand plus topics over the next year that won't be seen.

November 24, 20241 yr Interesting - using a weather addon instead of default now takes some contemplation with default being so good. Mike We've worked on storms quite a bit over the past few updates. Cirrus clouds and perf has also been a focus. 7 hours ago, MrBitstFlyer said: Interesting - using a weather addon instead of default now takes some contemplation with default being so good. Default is definitely improved. AS as always works to improve things further, aimed at aviation weather realism enthusiasts. As you know, the lack of available support from MS/Asobo for weather extensibility continues to limit what we can do, but we are still making progress, and if further extensibility is ever provided, we'll of course take advantage of that. November 24, 20241 yr Damian, I may well be regarded as suspect because for decades I've been a PROUD beta tester of your UNIQUE contributions to make WEATHER the more realistic it is possible given the constraints imposed to developers on each of the platforms you cover with your Active Sky line of products. I'm really looking fwd to try this new Open Beta with FS 2024, and just as with FS 2020, I'm sure it'll make quite a difference ! My most profound recognition and PRAISE for all your work & DEDICATION !!! Is the air effects stuff already working well in MSFS2024? I consider using it with default live/historical weather, because I have a feeling default turbulence effects will not be good (again) For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

While most people will be happy with MSFS default weather, though there are a lot of features that are useful depending on your use case / desire for extra realism. I can go back more than 24 hours with PSXT AI traffic and ASFS weather. They both match the conditions at the time. Great for replaying interesting weather. All the air effects are better in ASFS than default. Better depiction of thunderstorms. Removes the silly MSFS default ½ reduction in reported wind speed at ground level. ASFS contains a weather radar in the app, so I can see if any weather along my route should be avoided. I like mixing and matching. ASFS active mode for < 10,000 ft, passive mode (MSFS default live weather with ASFS air effects) > 10,000 ft. Gives the best of both options. November 24, 20241 yr I'm willing to give the default Live Weather a proper go, but it's good to know that ASFS will be a very decent backup option (especially for Historical Weather +24hours).
