Well yes, the Windows 9 release never did happen... 😉

So guillotine Jörg? Sure that'll make things better?

It's not his fault.

  • Bob, bugs bother all of us, but we still can find quality flying in MSFS2024 even as is. Also there is nothing wrong to layback on MSFS 2020 for now. However, excessive dramatic posts and tantrums are

Oh, my. I get the sudden urge to make some popcorn.

  • Works great for me having a blast.

I have 50 hours in 2024 so far, and I've enjoyed most of it.  20 of those I probably wasn't even at the computer since they were long flights (one being 13 hours), but the sim never crapped itself.

Getting a refund is comical.

Then anyone getting a refund must believe 2020 is the end of the road for them!

2024 has it's issues but in short order the kinks will get worked out and it will be better than 2020.

Things like lighting that people don't like are very subjective. Doesn't mean the product is broken or unusable!

Unmitigated disaster, Oh my not hardly!

Spot on. Mark my words......

They'll be back !

love how group mentality sinks in on this thread. OP has no use for MS2024 in its current state for his own personal reasons and many want to slag on him for it.

If he doesn’t want his own personal reasons to be disagreed with, he probably shouldn’t be posting them on public forums.

Also, I like the way you started complaining about group mentality, and finished with how much you agree with him.

To me it looks like MS/Asobo rushed the sim towards the release date they had planned.

Eventually it will work out but maybe releasing it a few months later and call it MSFS 2025 would have been better.

Because the average Xbox user isn't going to go out and buy a bigger SSD/M.2 HDD for their console...

The price we now pay for this to be playable on consoles.

I have a laptop that can run MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 that I bought last year, but the SSD is only 1 TB.  If you buy a laptop today, some come with a 500 GB SSD, not even a 1 TB SSD.  MSFS 2020 is  something like 500 GB if you download all the World Updates.  On a 1 TB SSD after Windows 11 is installed and you install some Office applications and a few other applications, you won't have much space left if MSFS is occupying 500 GB of the SSD.

No offense, but it seems you have poor awareness and understanding of the laptop market.  And there are a lot of people that like to use their laptop for flight simulation because it's portable (ie. they can bring their laptop to class or for a meeting, and then bring it home to play flight simulation on).

Then whose is it? He's the head of MSFS. If the buck doesn't stop with him, where does it?

After reading all the negative reviews, I found that after I actually tried it for myself, I 100% agree!

Having things pop in reminds me of the horrible FSX engine. I have recently installed a new 4TB SSD. Ultra fast and relatively cheap. I was expecting to use of that for an optimized perf sim. Not to be.

I am therefore getting a refund. I would not be buying back into this until, at a minimum:

-The architecture is reverted to FS2020 style and there is an offline mode

-The Horrible GPU / CPU utilisation is Fixed

-There is a way to edit controller and keyboard mappings in a Text file

-There should be a feature to select tiles on a world map and let it download the data into the local cache

@Greazer,

thx for honestly showing your unsatisfaction with FS 2024.

I believe I have been able to use it with success and good performance in my setup, which is far from a top rig.

I used RivaTunner to fix the FPS at 30, and didn't enable either Vsync or Dynamic ... in the sim settings. It works ok, giving me smooth display, and no CPU / GPU hammering.

I haven't bought it yet and probably won't until SU3 or SU4, I see no reason to use a buggy simulator now that MSFS 2020 works perfectly.

Ive actually been having a good time with 2024 since the update and find it running good on my system maxed out.

I'm surprised as I was expecting it to take at least 6 months before it was usable.

I don't want to jinx myself it will probably break in the next update

I for one agree with the OP and wouldn’t touch this pile of dung until at least SU3 at the absolute minimum.

In addition to not touching the pile, avoid the smell by taking a break from Avsim for a couple of months.

Thank you. Do all the switches in the flightdeck work and do the doors open?
