Game Over FS2024

Getting a refund is comical.

Then anyone getting a refund must believe 2020 is the end of the road for them!

2024 has it's issues but in short order the kinks will get worked out and it will be better than 2020.

Things like lighting that people don't like are very subjective. Doesn't mean the product is broken or unusable!

Unmitigated disaster, Oh my not hardly!

  • Bob, bugs bother all of us, but we still can find quality flying in MSFS2024 even as is. Also there is nothing wrong to layback on MSFS 2020 for now. However, excessive dramatic posts and tantrums are

Oh, my. I get the sudden urge to make some popcorn.

  • Works great for me having a blast.

its hard to please everyone on anything that's for sure, but no need to talk bad about it or having it to change it your way to suit your needs.

If you don't like MSFS2024, then, don't use it and get your refund.  But coming on here dising a product that just came out fresh only a week old is unnecessary.  I am sure having one less of unhappy customer is not going to be an issue for Asobo anyways...in the long run as what have others said, MSFS2024 will eventually be better than MSFS2020.

Asobo has been very accommodating and willing to listen from the community for MSFS2020, i am sure it will be the same for MSFS2024.  So no need to be bitter about it.  but then again, its the internet, so its a place for being sad and complaints all you want.

Cloud computing is the future in gaming.  They are not the only one using this technology, if you play FPS like Apex legend, it is streamed as well.

EVERY new sim in the last 25+ years has had it's major teething problems and bugs, and MSFS 2024 is no different. I like the idea that I've seen people float around that if you refund any new sim release in the first week, let alone month that you shouldn't be able to buy it again for 3-4 years.

It's not perfect by any means, but I was definitely more impressed with 2024 after day 1-5 than I was with 2020.

If 2024 never changes from what it is now, I still see little reason for me to ever fly 2020 again. But for some odd reason I don't see a lot of the issues that others report. If I saw what they see, my opinion might well be the opposite. (As always, I'm flying 100% in DLSS, not TAA).

On to another subject: for me 2024 performance in 2D is indeed higher in DLSS vs. TAA. But in VR, the difference is greater, TAA is not doable. DLSS is fine. Because in 2D I'm only in 1440p but in VR I'm in 4K in both left and right. At that resolution I don't have the power for TAA.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I happen to agree with Greaser.

Like it or not, FS2024 sucks big time as it stands. I refuse to be a guinea pig, been that road with 2020. I will buy it when the dust settles and my favorite addons get ported over.

With SSD/M.2 storage so cheap now a days, why did Asobo/MS decided to stream content is beyond me, that itself sucks.

But, to each their own, there is nothing we can do but wait, eventually, FS2024 will replace 2020 on my M.2

Just happy I decided to wait and see what the reviews would be like! Saved some money and headache. It’s unfortunate it’s been such a flop as I was looking forward to everything they promised but, oh well. At least we have 2020!

I’m having a blast with the helicopters, vision jet, and longitude in MSFS 2024. Working great for me.

Does the Longitude have a cabin and do all the buttons in the flightdeck work?

Yup, the more people refund means fewer users. Fewer users mean less load issues for the servers and more fun for those who did not ask for refunds.

My refund has been processed.

Asobo need to have a long look in the mirror. Who approved all of this? Who signed off on the new GUI? This is an unmitigated disaster. Windows 9 release flight Sim. Should never have occurred. Heads must roll !

Lol.

Only basic games should be fully streamed. Never a full on flight simulator. It's just embarrassing. Hard to even frame it as a sim.

Having started my flight sim experience with Fly II, then MSFS  every edition after, along with the long wait from X to 2020. I grabbed the Aviator edition, and think they will fix things, NOT Getting a refund. I will keep 2020 installed, and ride this all the way. I'm grateful that we have this at all, and I spent today deselecting as many things as I can to make it realistic for me.

We get a ton of stuff in here, sight see, and practice. No where but up from here.

I hated 2024 last week. I spent the entire weekend playing around, and Now I am liking it a lot. Things I still don't like are.... 1. Controller setup menu 2. Not having the choice to install the full game onto a local HD.

Well yes, the Windows 9 release never did happen... 😉

So guillotine Jörg? Sure that'll make things better?

I love how group mentality sinks in on this thread. OP has no use for MS2024 in its current state for his own personal reasons and many want to slag on him for it. Some even border on defending the sorry state it was released in by falling back on the old, this is always how it is mantra. Good for you that you accept Microsoft and Asobo releasing a bug filled AAA title, it’s people like you that drives them to change nothing.  Some want to stand on the old classic, it works great for me statement. The OP has issues that to him make it not enjoyable and he wants to bail. Good for him and it’s his own personal opinion that matters, not some anonymous user at Avsim bent on telling everyone how great it is in its current state. I for one agree with the OP and wouldn’t touch this pile of dung until at least SU3 at the absolute minimum.

Because the average Xbox user isn't going to go out and buy a bigger SSD/M.2 HDD for their console...

The price we now pay for this to be playable on consoles.
