Game Over FS2024

Featured Replies

Yes, we've heard it all before, was the same when FS2020 was released. This poor sim hasn't even been out for a couple of weeks and the crylers are out in force 🙂  I installed today, took me an hour and I quite like it, bugs and all, but they will be fixed in due course.

  • Bob, bugs bother all of us, but we still can find quality flying in MSFS2024 even as is. Also there is nothing wrong to layback on MSFS 2020 for now. However, excessive dramatic posts and tantrums are

After reading all the negative reviews, I found that after I actually tried it for myself, I 100% agree!

Having things pop in reminds me of the horrible FSX engine. I have recently installed a new 4TB SSD. Ultra fast and relatively cheap. I was expecting to use of that for an optimized perf sim. Not to be.

I am therefore getting a refund. I would not be buying back into this until, at a minimum:

-The architecture is reverted to FS2020 style and there is an offline mode

-The Horrible GPU / CPU utilisation is Fixed

-There is a way to edit controller and keyboard mappings in a Text file

-There should be a feature to select tiles on a world map and let it download the data into the local cache

Did you already get your refund approved? They've been issuing denials left and right for anyone that has more than 0NM completed in their profiles. They didn't get to mine yet.

When pigs fly, when hell freezes over, when Asobo parts the red sea!!!! I believe FSX is still available.

Well, I must be living in a parallel world, it's unbelievable... I'm still using a GTX 1080, a Ryzen 5600X, and 32GB of memory, and I'm having a blast with MSFS2024. I'm about to finish my commercial pilot license IRL, and the career mode in MSFS2024 makes the training more enjoyable. I know there are bugs, I know there are issues, but this is not a "Game Over." I don't know of any simulator or game that didn't have problems at launch. Just wait for Asobo to fix the bugs, and it'll be great soon enough. Stay positive, folks!

I’m having a blast with the helicopters, vision jet, and longitude in MSFS 2024. Working great for me. Teething issues and there will be a wait to get some stuff fixed I’m sure but I haven’t touched MSFS 2020 since MSFS 2024 came out.

Among all the other things that are wrong, one thing that’s always bothered me is, if they have real life pilots assisting, who had the nerve to sign of on the awful night time flying experience 🤣 it looks like fs98 when it’s night time. The whole night flying experience is a laughable sight. Blobs of light around the cities and airports. Grand theft auto has better night, city and airport lights

I agree. I did a flight last night from Sydney to Wagga. I could see Wagga airport lights from Gundagai over 50km away !

Having said that, I have the sim running fine now with a few tweaks. The frame generation works fine ( 3080) and its very smooth. I like the lighting, but not convinced 2024 is a massive step up from 2020. Still I'll stick with it now but keep 2020 also for a while.

Not that your gripes are unreasonable, but you should know yourself well enough to understand you do NOT have the temperament to be anywhere near an initial launch of a flight simulator. I mean, I know that about you and I haven’t lived in your head for the last [insert your age here] years.

A lot of the street lights look great and have a nice twinkling effect (at dusk at least, I haven’t done any real night time flying) but I have seen the god awful halos around taxiway lights and am just hoping it’s another of the long list of things they know about but didn’t get round to fixing before launch.

My refund has been processed.

Asobo need to have a long look in the mirror. Who approved all of this? Who signed off on the new GUI? This is an unmitigated disaster. Windows 9 release flight Sim. Should never have occurred. Heads must roll !
