Oddly, the app is opening, but seems to be opening off screen and I'm not able to see it.

Look toward the bottom right of your Windows and click on the ^.  That will show loaded apps.   See if you can ID it there.

True. In case you wanna try the app, turn off the MSFS one. I still had issues with this as in the ground, the app might drop my fps to one digit.

How does the built in work? Is it using frame generated or native FPS as basis?

Are you sure it works properly ?

I tried a TLOD 600! In CRZ with the Fenix normally it should be terrible on performance and yet, I still have 30 fps and a blurry ground.

I have tested it and for me it changes tlod perfectly. When you set tlod like you said to 600 you set maximum tlod that you will reach IF your fps allows. If you have an fps drop the app reduces tlod and that's what it supposed to do. You have 30 fps with blurry ground probably because the app reduces tlod to the minimum and blurry ground is a part of low tlod experience. If you want to test it then during the fly in VR optimized mode set the minimum tlod to 10 and then to let's say 200. You will see how different the ground looks.

Yes.  It's definitely open...showing on the task bar and in task view.  I just cannot get it to appear on either of my monitors...once opened it just shoots off to the right.  Very odd.  I'll have to try a redownload.

I will try this on my next flight (I use it all the time in 2020). The in-game dynamic feature in 2024 seems to be working good for me although I have no idea what it is changing.  I can generally achieve my 30 fps (locked 30 at 1/2 monitor refresh) but the issues I see are the stutters at or near airports....especially annoying when flaring and you get pauses...

Problem is we don't know because it's not explained.  With the app, we know exactly what is changing and can customize those parameters.

I’m getting the same, even alt tabbing to the window doesn’t work.

Is it still recommended to set target FPS a couple below our desired FPS, as it is with the 2020 version?

I did a clean reinstall of both MSFS 2024 and AutoFPS. Fresh install, zero mods in the community and the CTD problem persists. I also tried all the solutions in the FAQ and it didn't work.

I'm giving up on AutoFPS for now and hoping there's an update that fixes this. Weird that a small MSFS 2024 update broke it.

I wrote a long post about this many months ago.  When the AutoFPS app closes in the wrong manner, possibly after a sim cash, the status of the process changes to background, which my Windows definition has NO user interaction. Thus, you cannot get the app back onto the screen.

I worked countless hours on this issue and have found no good solution.  What I do now is:

- run a DOS command line batch file to terminate the MSFSAutoFPS process

- click on a desktop icon that runs the apps UNINSTALLER and it to REMOVE

- click on another desktop icon that runs the app INSTALLER and tell it NOT to create a new desktop icon

The whole process to terminate and then reinstall takes less than 20-seconds and works perfectly.

I got mine working after just removing it via the exe, and reinstalling.

I don't understand, but it doesn't work for me, I just did a test flight with the application, it tells me in sim values that my TLOD is indeed at 4OO in green (sorry I forgot to take a photo).

But the terrain remains blurry, it is impossible that my TLOD is at this moment at 400
So, I go to the MSFS menu, the TLOD is still on 100 (This is not normal, it should be on 400? Like the application tells me?)

And there, I put it on 400 and yes OK the terrain is detailed the FPS have also gone down, but at this moment, I have TLOD 400.

Here is the photo with the application that tells me TLOD 400

TLOD-100.png

And here I am who went into the settings and manually set it to 400

TLOD-400.png

So I don't understand, because the application raises and lowers the TLOD according to my altitude, but it has no visual effect/impact and FPS on the game is stuck at 100 no matter what the application says.

Here, I took a picture of how AutoFPS is configured, did I make a mistake?

And otherwise after my flight, I took the problem the wrong way round!

I restarted MSFS with a TLOD 400 and I launched the application since I was on the GROUND AutoFPS should have lowered the TLOD to 100.

Same on the ground so it said 100 in green in the application, but in the game, I was still in LOD 400 (I know by the FPS it lags while at 100, it's smooth.

So, if anyone knows how to help me, because this application is a MUST!
