The premium airports were supposed to be upgraded for 2024.  Not just made compatible, but I recall Jorg saying Gaya was going to make significant upgrades.  I don’t have 2024 yet, so for those that do, have they?

Nope..they were not upgraded other than the new default textures for aprons/runways, etc.  

Yea, I was pretty disappointed in what I have seen. I have not looked at every one of them but the ones I have visited have no or minor changes. 

One improvement at least is at FACT where I used to see parts of the jetways appearing and disappearing randomly depending on how near or far away you were from the jetway. That no longer happens in 2024.

Ground markings are better overall.

In some cases they made them worse.  Premium Deluxe EGLL is missing a few terminal buildings for example and left just a bunch of jetways sitting there.

Yea, it is a little hit and miss but for sure I would not purchase Deluxe or Premium Deluxe for the airports.

There are improvements to some airports, but overall it's pretty disappointing to be honest. Maybe my expectations were too high as they hardly added any new airports. I thought the existing ones would be completely revamped, but that's not the case.

They all look great to me but I never had FS2020.

BUT what is disappointing is the LoD change and popup of objects and textures that occurs taxiing and moving around the airport.

When you say they added hardly any new airports, could you say which ones have been added as I am not aware of any at all.

I thought for sure 2024 would fix KMSY. But alas, they did not.

Yes, they did. At least now, since the latest update, you will be asked if you want to use Asosbo (2020) or Gaya (2024) airports when you want to enable premium and premium deluxe airports from 2020.

How does that work?   In content manager all my 2020 prem deluxe etc is disabled by MS, loading into KSFO I get the prem deluxe version, and have never seen a prompt like that.  Other prem deluxe stuff like EGLL still have obvious issues, so is the 2024 version broken then?  Or is it loading a broken 2020 version?

That's not true at all. All of the handcrafted airports, including the world and city updates ones have been touched up in some way. Some have completely new art, mostly the launch ones from 2020.

However, even at the airports that have completely rebuilt art, they kept the old layouts from 2020. So JFK is a missing a terminal extension, as is KDFW, KDEN, KMCO doesn't have its new south terminal.

KORD has a terminal extension, but they didn't modify the parking spaces, so some of them cause you spawn inside the terminal.

It looks like Gaya just took the existing airports, replaced/updated the art but didn't bother modelling any of the changes the airports have received since 2020 released.

I think you need to find footage of how they looked in 2020 and compare them. Because some of the bigger ones have completely new art.
