AIG missing landing gear on MSFS 2024

It used to happen for me on MSFS 2020 so I got rid of them and just went with FSLTL, which combined with Beyond ATC suits my needs perfectly.

Same here, on 2020, with FSLTL and BATC, the AI aircraft look great.

Except the op is asking about MSFS 2024. AIG in MSFS 2020 and 2024 with Batc works equally as well you just get a lot variety of carriers, liveries and models.

I was responding to the post that Verbal made.

Does anyone have a valid Discord server link for Alpha-India Group? The ones I found are saying invalid.

Maybe you are mixing two things together here, guys. Initially, there was a bug with AIG models not showing the landing gear even if you were directly next to the AI plane with the camera/plane. This was fixed with the beta release of AIG for MSFS2024. What is not fixed and the same for FSLTL and default models is the fact that the LOD is exteremly aggressive resulting in missing landing gear already just some hundred meters away, e.g. when you are sitting on a gate and planes taxi by 100m behind you. This aggressive LOD is a sim issue and not yet "fixed" (if there will be ever a fix...).

Yes. Unfortunately, neither MSFS nor MSFS2024 gives us an acceptable visual (and functional) quality of ai traffic. In many aspects FSX/P3D injected ai traffic behaved much better than it does nowadays - after 4.5 years! And it does not matter from where the ai models come from (FSLTL, AIG, FSTraffic). Even Burkhard Renks (r.i.p.) MyTraffic worked better with the older sims. And as you, I doubt that we will ever get a good ai injection with reasonable LODs. Plane spotting on super duper detailed airports is no fun at at all when you see landing gears appearing/disappearing from one microsecond to another. Too sad.

Aargh, I don't know why people use the 7-day Discord invite links. Here's a permalink for the AIG Discord, in case anyone else runs across this topic in the future searching the problem like I did. (And yep, still seeing no gear on AI planes in FS2024. word not allowed, I wish someone on the MSFS team actually used FS2024 like their customers do. Sigh.)

To be fair, landing gear disappears on AI planes in MSFS 2020 at relatively close range (whether they are on the ground or in the air), so this is more an Asobo problem as far as I am concerned.

This has been a fundamental problem with many of the irritating issues with 2020/2024 over the years, if they played their own game they would see the blatantly obvious issues and attempt to fix them. I think they're too stuck in their own bubble of development that they don't play it like your average hardcore flight enthusiast or even average gamer, unlike a sim racing dev I know who sees "minor" inconveniences and fixes them as soon as he can because he actually spends time driving and understands what we the users see.

This bug in particular is by no means a major issue, but it's an irritating one that's been in the sim for 4+ years so how, Asobo are extremely slack on Quality Of Life fixes where they're needed.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

I really cannot understand how Asobo can be so blind that they keep missing this blatantly obvious issue. It looks absolutely ridiculous, and is one of those massive immersion killers that thousands of users must have told them about. Their lack of action regarding this just baffles me
