January 27, 20251 yr This would have been a great choice for A2A, but who knows if we'll see a warbird from them before the end of the decade.
January 27, 20251 yr Add the original Optica to the list also. OrbX has a 0% track record of fixing issues with their aircraft in my experience. I highly recommend avoiding this one until/if another site starts selling it...which seems highly unlikely.
January 27, 20251 yr Extract from Sim-outhouse.org thread. T45 Full range of issues so-far noted by others: - Airspeed indicator is not calibrated correctly (20-30 kts off) - The inner wing flaps don't work - The propeller blades are always displayed in semi-coarse pitch, rather than fine pitch as they should be when the engine is off - The cowl flaps and oil cooler flaps are either full open or full closed with no intermediate travel - The turret gun is missing, even though there is no visual weapons ban on MSFS 2020/2024 aircraft - On the real Avenger, the sliding canopy panels are independent of each other, where as on this model they are animated as one - The pilots disappear in showcase/drone camera mode - According to Youtube Vintage Simulations, the MSFS 2020 version flies better than the 2024 version, and there is a stutter issue with the aircraft in 2024 (as also reported by Jonathan Beckett)

January 27, 20251 yr One of my favourite WW2 aircraft, so this model's flaws and shortcomings are particularly irritating. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, Orbx has a mixed record of rectifying problems. We shall see, but like last year's Hawker Hurricane, I wish Flying Iron had done the TBF. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
January 27, 20251 yr A little bit of balance may be needed. It is not the purpose of the Avsim forums to do other than to pick out the flaws and on no account to take heed of the good parts, such as the graphical appearance, which is superb. This is why there was very little when the utterly superb A2A Comanche was released for MSFS (2020). There was nothing bad to say, so almost nothing was said. It is an excellent aircraft model with a few things that could do with attention and it's not even expensive. at US$17.64 | €16,78 | £14.11 for both MSFS and MSFS 2024 versions. If a good addon is released this forum is full of praise for it. The musings about this one mainly relate to the strong probability that it will not be developed any further, which is what has happened with every other aircraft developed by Orbx to date. This is something a prospective buyer should be aware of and is exactly the kind of information one comes to Avsim for. But you have now provided some balance in as much as you say it looks good, so any future buyer can take that into account as well. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
January 27, 20251 yr Of course, your campaign is not to be deflected, your persistence is praiseworthy.

In some ways, I agree with you, though if I recall correctly, the A2A Comanche was lavished with praise. If a much-anticipated model fulfils expectations, most people are satisfied and little more is said. When people are let down or their hopes are dashed, they are more outspoken. It's like life in general, I suppose - people won't tell you they are happy, but will certainly let you know when they aren't. Back to the Avenger: Jonathan Beckett's live stream, linked in the opening post, showcases the extraordinary internal detailing in the crew stations and bomb bay. Having dedicated so much time and effort, I hope the developer will quickly address the outstanding problems. If so, I'll certainly buy it. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
January 27, 20251 yr - The turret gun is missing, even though there is no visual weapons ban on MSFS 2020/2024 aircraft Is this missing because it is modelled on the actual aircraft used for Aerobatics at air shows, as seems to be implied on the Orbx product page? If so, I think it is released just as that specific aircraft. That is maybe why there are no other repaints included. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.
January 27, 20251 yr Hoping it'll receive at least one update but Orbx has an at least four-deep aircraft list that all have problems and broken promises of fixes: Optica, PAC 750, DHC Caribou, and the Breezer Sport, as pointed out by users on the MSFS Official Forums. It looks like, consolidating reviews from this forum, that forum, and a third of warbird enthusiasts, this Avenger has a plethora of inaccuracies and issues. Lots of images of the interior and exterior of the real aircraft it was supposedly modelled after show many issues: missing guns (real one has them), incorrect ADI, clock, non-functional aspects, miscalibrations, missing animations, etc etc as outlined here and elsewhere.
