Majestic Dash 8 for MSFS?

It would make more sense for them to switch to simmer base because Q400 is thing of the past.

I can't imagine selling a software to customers and at the same time consider them entitled. Something is very wrong with that attitude. What goes around comes around.

Hmm, develop 1 aircraft for a specific customer who contractually pays me every month to make it work on one specific system? Or for thousands who pay a tiny fraction of that cost once and then complain when I don't update it fast enough for free and also complain if it doesn't work perfectly on their custom built system alongside a dozen other addons? tough choice.

Not everyone wants to handle the heat of consumer software, especially when they've got a cushy gig selling b2b. And based on this thread? I don't blame them.

  • Compared to Majestic Dash 8 in P3D, The ATR in MSFS is horrible/joke. Several systems are either broken or don't work as intended. Developers are not bothered to fix it, every time they release an upd

I would take a majestic systems level q400 even if only at p3d visual model quality.

  • How’d you read that and get that interpretation? It works in 2020 and they’re of the same thinking as a lot of devs when it comes to 2024, new features that they’ll need to delve into.

Stavros.  Unless I'm mistaken you are not an employee of majestic or one of their accountants?  You really have no idea their spread between sim vs commercial revenue, number of commercial customers they have etc.

Their are plenty of developers who make both types of products, and enjoy making both types of products.

I also don't think it's fair to say simmers are hounding them.  This sim (or iteration of this sim) has been out for over 5 years.

The Q400 is interesting, in many parts of the world you’d never see one, but here in Canada they’re everywhere and will be for a long time.

When I look at my FlightAware stats page (yes I’m one of those nerds who records all of my real world flights) it’s my most flown on aircraft by a good margin.

All that to say, I’m really missing this aircraft in the sim more than any other.  The unfortunate reality is, since majestic has been the Q400 provider over multiple Sims and has done a very good job, I doubt anybody else will dare enter this arena, given the risk of having their development time and cost undercut if and when Majestic releases what will undoubtably be a great product.

So hopefully they’re well on their way.  Didn’t they say previously that it was mainly the 3-D model that was holding them back?

You should learn more about business before passing any judgement . Anyway your assumption that someone give a favor to sell product for MSFS is not completely wrong. A2A and Miliviz both have commercial contract in real aviation and it doesn't stop them communicating or releasing product for MSFS.

Majestic are small development team if I am not mistaken and their last update was in June earlier this year. Also the developers there don't do this full time (from what I've heard) so it is reasonable to assume that this development is likely going to take longer then usual. Also in their update they mentioned "serving commercial contracts" so it is likely they are prioritising commercial contracts over MSFS development, This potentially explains why there is no further news regarding this. Also things happen in real life which might directly or indirectly affect the development of the product. Maybe the developers so far have nothing to showcase about hence why lack of communication, We can only assume at this point. I don't think the product development is dead - it is still possibly ongoing but at a very slower pace because of other obligations perhaps. Q400 is still one of the most popular turbo prop on the market and it is still used by many airlines worldwide. We have no other turbo prop option on MSFS other then ATR which is okay but not perfect.

Also record my flights. Use to fly Flybe Q400 every weekend SOU-MAN-SOU did the route 32 times according to myflightradar two of them on the E175 looking at some of the dates I feel I've missed a few out. Surprising the Q400 had plenty of leg room and comfortable, easy enough to get a power nap.

I'm just disappointed we are 5 plus years since 2020 release and we still don't have the majestic.  Especially when they said (Their words) that it would be a port, not a native build.  I don't run their business.  So they owe me nothing.  But I'm pretty surprised we are almost in 2026 and still don't have it.

While I overall agree with you, let’s not forget that it took Just Flight, PMDG, Fenix, and Leonardo all well over three years to release their addons.

so the bar is really about 2 years late…🤙

Leonardo didn't?  They were one of the first.

I stand to be corrected, but I do remember it being remarkable that all the Hi Fi’s released more or less simultaneously. I.e., within a few weeks or so of each other.

FWIW, I wanted a Study Level addon so bad back then that if Leonardo had been first at bat, I probably would’ve bought it 😎

You wouldn't regret purchasing it then or now!

In all seriousness I tend to come back to the theme that other posts suggest we are giving majestic a hard time.  Where I come from, people saying they want to buy your product or service is a good thing.
