Winwing gets crazy

That's pretty false. As far as I have seen for China the tariffs are across the board right now at 10%.

He doesn't really care what the product is! Without getting political, tariffs are/will probably be implemented in some way on all Chinese produced products.

They already are. There's a 10% blanket tariff he implemented in his last term that was never removed. He just put a 20% tariff on top of that.

The announced price at Expo was $129 for the non-switch version. It is now $149 so something caused the price to go up $20.

Which tells us Winwing is being honest, unlike a lot of retailers. The tariffs are imposed on the import price - i.e., the price the importer pays before they add their profit to the price that you pay. So prices should rise *less* than 30% because the retail profit isn't subject to the tariff. A lot of retailers are counting on people not knowing that, and jacking prices by the amount of the tariffs or, in the case of some graphics card resellers, even higher than the tariff percentage.

Good on Winwing. Another reason I'll probably be buying my next combat setup from them.

  • I wonder whether Winwing espouses the "just in time" manufacturing principle (scaled to their size). Given the flight simulator market for these specialised products isn't exactly gargantuan it makes

  • Perfect timing for my 2nd CDU's to arrive for the 777 and 737.  I have the mount all ready to go with my tablet keeping the spot warm LOL 🙂  Just noticed it's time for a step climb too LOL

If you’re the importer to the US and receiving the goods from China, you’ll personally be subject to the tariffs. Realistically, for a product of this value, it’s just going to pass through customs without any extra charges.

If you’re buying from Winwings US store, Winwing are responsible for the tariffs. But, you’ll presumably pay for that privilege at the point of purchase.

For any US resident, why risk it? Just buy from the global site when the value is so low.

Yup I ordered within 2 minutes of them opening up orders from their Canada site. Seemed logical to me at the time, living in Canada that I would choose that option.
They don't explain at all the relationship between the various sites and how you get stuck waiting behind orders on the global site.
I has still heard nothing a week ago so reached out to them, and they still didn't have any idea when the Canada orders would be shipped out.
Thanks to what I learned here I had enough and canceled entirely my pre-order and instead ordered from the global site.
My Airbus MCDU and 737 FMS have both already been shipped and will arrive on Tuesday.
It's going to work out more expensive than the order from the Canadian store, but at least I'll actually finally have my units in hand and not just be sitting around waiting for who knows how long.

Is ordering from a country of your residence result in cheaper shipping rates? How do you change the order site from Global to the US?

Mine has been dispatch and arrives at scheduled for delivery on April 10th (UK)

Couldn't agree more.  It's all very tiresome.

But back on topic, does anyone know if WW is also selling the frame housing on which they mounted the throttle and spoiler/flap accessory at the show.

I emailed them about that exact thing. I definitely think there is a market for it

Yes it is cheaper, you save shipping coasts.

Just cancel your order at the global side ( only possible the state is not already at shipping ) and order at your home side..

cheers 😉

It would keep me from purchasing any of those units if I don't have a stable base on which to mount them, especially if they are multiple units.

Could you let us know what they say?

I managed to get winwing to accept my order. I used paypal. Before I put anything in the cart there was an icon to click which linked your paypal account to the winwing website. After doing that the order went through with no issues. (I had trouble 10 days ago getting my order to complete using credit card address, now is OK however using paypal).

And now scheduled for delivery today. Kid at Christmas etc.

My MCP arrived yesterday, I’ve not plugged it in yet but have to say it’s quite an impressive bit of kit, especially for the price.

I also received mine yesterday, but there wasn't much opportunity to test it. In any case, the workmanship of this product is very high class.

I think this custom mount seller might be the same guy who did this video, but maybe not... lots of custom mounts.
