Hopefully someone will respond with a permanent solution. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_11-wintop_update/kb5054979-and-kb5055523-causing-panning-problems/902e359d-c2bc-44aa-a75f-fe1ada0356d0 Thanks, looking forward to it. In the meantime I disabled Chaseplane, changed the cameras.cfg setting back to default and configured all controlls in P3D to the same as i used with Chaseplane. In Cameras.cfg chaseplane did disable the default vc and added its own vc configs. These have to be removed and the default re-enabled. Chaseplane when started, instantly add it's configuration to cameras.cfg. I also found, changing the PitchPanRate and HeadingPanRate to a bit higher values makes it feel almost as good as chaseplane before the Windows update. I also installed these Windows updates again, since they seem to be needed. I had problems with sleep state of my rig and hope, this is solved with the last updates. April 29, 20251 yr Yes I do confirm as well that I have the same issue with Chaseplane and P3D v5.4 latest release. Interesting how a Windows update can break such an application 🤯
April 29, 20251 yr Moderator @Keven Menard, I know you’re unable to support the original ChasePlane for FSX / P3D but having raised the issue with Microsoft here it would probably help them if they knew which part of ChasePlane was affected by their security updates. Any info you can provide would be gratefully accepted. As you can see more than 15 people have the same problem. Ray (Cheshire, England). When I was exchanging with Ed from //42 i suggested the problem could also affect the P3Dv6 and MSFS versions (still supported) of Chaseplane but he ignored it completely. They could have made an improved version covering both, v5 and v6 and sell it that way. It calls itself "pro" but maybe that doesn't really mean to be superior over previous version. I think your best bet is the reach them over Discord! You might have a good chance to get a reply there as they are usually "Online" for most of the day.

I don’t do Discord. @Keven Menardis a regular visitor to AvSim so I would hope he will provide us with any info that will help Microsoft. Of course if anyone of you has a Discord account be my guest! 😁 Ray (Cheshire, England). Or will that mess up with Windows Security and applications operations?

Or will that mess up with Windows Security and applications operations? Yes to the first question. If the security update causing the problem is reinstalled the problem returns. It’s all down to whether Windows will continue to permit the two updates to be uninstalled. What we’re doing is a workaround, not a permanent solution. That requires Microsoft to intervene. So far, there’s no reply from them. Ray (Cheshire, England).
