Chaseplane unusable since a few days

Gents, if nothing in your setup has changed including ChasePlane it has to be something else causing an impact on CP.

I’d start by making sure Device Manager has no errors. Same with devices in Control Panel. Make sure they’re all correctly configured.

It is unlikely to be a Windows update as I’m on the same build as you and mine is fine. The mouse does have an impact with CP. Look at that too.

I fear @Kevin Maynardmay not have enough info to assist but let’s see if he can offer any advice.

I have P3D controllers disabled. Do you? Everything is configured via FSUIPC. Might be a factor.

I don't have any problems with CP. It remains as it has always been. (I am now on W11, having upgraded by a back door method last week, which worked perfectly).

Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. Win 10 Home. 500g Samsung 960 as Windows home. 1 Gb Mushkin SSD for P3D. GTX 1080 8gb.

How do you do that? There is no FSUIPC controller available and if P3D controller is disabled, there is nothing to control the sim.

Kevin Maynard hasn't visitited AVSIM since 2017 according to this profile.

That’s not the Chaseplane developer, his name is Keven Ménard.

Click on Pete auau link above. The company is now //42 but he developed the version for FSX / P3D.

Buy FSUIPC6. You then disable P3D controllers and configure all your hardware via it. It allows custom controls like setting TOGA on PMDG aircraft via a button rather than clicking the hot spot with the mouse.

You have to customise view controls including panning. That’s the system I use and I’m not seeing the problem you are. I’d take a look at your view settings in CP and check them.

Maybe set things up for a default aircraft.

yes see above.

Sometimes my mouse is moving the view. I fear it interferes somehow. Where is the mouse. I don't have it in P3D for views and not in Chaseplane.

How are you panning the view? With a hat switch on your yoke? What are the external views like? Do those start okay then slow down?

I'm panning with the Hat switch 1. It worked perfect long time. As said in the beginning, the movement starts fast, then slows down until the Chaseplane preset is modified or Chaseplane is restarted. Also my video shows it.

I use FSUIPC for years now but never saw a possibility to replace normal joystick binding in P3D. Maybe cause it's too much work to process all inputs. Anyway, I switched off the stick in P3D and configured the hat switch as Pan View in FSUIPC and it has the same lag, as the regular joystick input.

I also tested directimput vs raw input. No difference.

Mine is different. In FSUIPC I have left hat button configured as Key Press. Ctrl+Left with repeat whilst held enabled. Ditto for up, right and down.

In CP Control Assignments change the Tilt Up / Down and Pan Left / Right to match the hat switch commands in FSUIPC.

See how that goes.

i noticed that if i select "preferences / enable advanced features (restart)" i get problems with switching camera views. very slow and not very reliable. turn that off (start again)  and it works fine again. for now i'm afraid.

I think you found it! Now it stays the same rate as before. Great! Thanks a lot.

Thank you!  Will test this out.
do you have to do this multiple times per P3d session, or do it once and it works until the next time you fire up P3d?

I checked mine and it’s enabled. I’m surprised with your 3090 it can’t cope.

Well discovered @vandruningen. 👏

@okupton, settings are permanent between sessions.

I got an answer from support but very disappointing:

Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out. Please note that the product you inquired about is a "Legacy" product, which means it no longer receives active updates or support from //42.

We recommend verifying that your sim is compatible and reviewing the product page for detailed requirements.

You might also find additional assistance by searching online for others who have encountered similar issues.

//e

Shall I continue to talk with this guy? I have the suspicion, this is not human but stupid AI. So guys you know, we are all legacy.

@Ray Proudfoot

Well my 3090card can cope with this setting easily. Switching the motion effect out at least gives me camera movement back. But switching between different view is now instantly.
