But don't confuse facts with their narrative of the evil PMDG monster..

No one is calling PMDG evil.

We’re just Pointing out that other aircraft makers of similar quality have already ported their 2020 aircraft.

  • No, definitely not, you are right, they must have had the SDK the whole time and just been lying to us and then they got Asobo and all of the other developers to go along with their story.  Then when

  • Don’t buy it then.  You are in control. If you feel the price is too dear, or unfair then pass.  Far more effective than a post in Avsim.  All due respect, -B

  • I totally agree with this. I am actually looking forward to the 200ER most. I have the 300ER but skipped the F as I don’t tend to do cargo ops.    For me PMDG make fantastic products and with 1

I want to voice my opinion re the 777 er, I think it’s bloody ridiculous that they have made another 777 when they have already made the 300, which I own… so they release this, we have no 737 off them and we still have to wait for the 300, they shud have upgraded the 300 for fs2004 FIRST, never mind doing another bloody 777 variant, bloody ridiculous… I certainly won’t be buying it. …. I think pmdg make the best aircraft but I’m not impressed here at with their methods.

I guess people will buy the -200 just to use a 777 in 2024 right now now now .. if they updated the -300 that people already own, I would imagine there'd be a sizable number of people who'd not buy the -200.

I don't know why you are surprised, PMDG has never been a customer friendly company.

Yep, makes perfect sense to me from a business perspective as well.  If you have self control and patience, of which I lack both you can buy it now or wait a month and get the upgrade for free.

It's also where they were in their development cycle after the -F was released.  So as a business, they could have frozen their development cycle and gone back to give something away for free or offer something new for 24 to recoup the upcoming costs of porting over the 777's and DC-6's for free for existing customers then shift back to re-doing the 737 to try and make money again...

Not directed at you by any means but they do have to pay people's salaries after all.  It's a business not a bunch of people volunteering their time.

For me PMDG make fantastic products and with 15 years of use I can count on one hand the amount of times their product has let me down on a flight.

I don’t have a problem with a business especially in this hobby trying to make money. As with more money made they can make more great products.

I once seen a post on here and the poster said something along the lines of ‘you don’t bat an eye at spending £2000 on a GPU but a £50 add on is classed as ridiculous’. For me this is so true.

I'm very curious how it will work with time acceleration (it will not for sure), I really love 777, really like lang haul flights, but I don't see the point in buying if I can't control the time.

737 and 777 seem to have the same auto-cruise and time acceleration capabilities so unless something changes with '24 you should be good to go.

Auto-Cruise is actually a nice feature.

The PMDG products work flawlessly with increased simrate. The auto function is very very nice.

If using with 2024 the sims clock won’t speed up with the plane. However if you use this excellent tool I’ve linked below it solves that issue and the sims clock will keep up with the plane.

The 200ER was the version of the 777 that PMDG were working on when they made their decision to switch all development to MSFS 2024 only. Why on Earth would they decide to put that on hold and get the 300ER working in MSFS 2024 first? That makes neither business sense nor common sense.

Sorry if this has been covered but will there be a cheaper version like the 737-600 ?

I would expect the 200LR to be a cost effective option.

And there's also the fact they released the -300ER for their debut of the 777 series on MSFS.. so it's not like they always release the least popular variants first.
