  • This other tool is for new users of 2024, import your old 2020 controller profiles to 2024: https://flightsim.to/file/85361/migrate-fs2020-controller-configs-to-fs2024

No, thank god, my profiles were all still there. I don't understand why Asobo can't set up a file, that you can save on your PC, so when this happens, you can just replace the file instead of relying on the cloud to save all your settings.

Bob, there is an app for that.  Flightsim.to.  Look for MSFS controller backup and I’m sure you will find it.

How sad is it that this multi-million dollar company almost forces us to take pictures of our screens

How many sophisticated software systems can you name that were released without bugs and need no updates and bug fixes through its life?

Good grief! Thank goodness for Apple!

Apple have always released perfect software?

I think you need to get another hobby that doesn't have anything go wrong - staying in bed and never move maybe?

I doubt it was down to a supernatural being - probably a feature MS/Asobo put there.

No, that will be you doing that by not understanding sophisticated software that will always have bugs and a lengthy development cycle.  Its rather like driving a vehicle like an word not allowed and complaining about other people making mistakes and getting in the way.

I thought the same thing, and when I started with that ridiculous menu where it wanted  to reset everything, I restarted PC, didn't work. I still had to reset everything.

The benefit of 2024 is a full re-install takes 15 minutes and all your settings are maintained in the cloud.  Still, if you prefer a 24 hour re-install, stay with 2020.

They have had almost 5 years to figure out how not to screw up 2020

But, but 2020 is perfect!

I shut down MS 2020 with task manager. Next flght, started 2020 and everything on the sim is reset, controls, everything. What do they have at Asobo doing this programming, morons?

Picky, picky, picky. With just several hours of work and you're back to normal, for probably one more flight session.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Asobo and MS hire a lot of cheap programmers. You know, just like Boeing did, especially on the 737 Max. How did that work out for Boeing?

When you reinstall 2024, are all the existing bugs included? 🤣

Been computing since Atari 130xe Sir.   Like em both and I am using MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020 and just having fun with the equation cause I am in the mix enjoying the ride with the rest of the crew.  Gotta have a sense of humor or else you will go crrrazzy 😉  .  By the way driving record is grrreeat.

Maybe you should try it.

I haven't had 2020 on my system for ages and am quite happy with the direction it is heading.

I complete plenty of long haul flights on a very stable platform.

They do have something because every once in a while I get that message about my local backup being older or newer than the cloud and asking which I want to restore.  So we must have a local copy somewhere on our machines the questions are what files and where...

As for all the advice to move to 2024 because of a 2020 issue well they really aren't helpful to a user suffering an issue.  No one kept telling a certain user in this thread posting 5 times in a row that they should go back to 2020 when their 2024 wouldn't load for days...

Probably wouldn't have been appreciated in the moment.  Just sayin'
