Thanks, I was going to try that, but got put off by comments about trouble with AMD GPU's that aren't at stock settings.

I've achieved a pretty good cooling solution with motherboard fan control and Adrenalin, but I wouldn't mind linking case fan speed to GPU temp so I might give it a go.

I use it instead of icue too.

It has nothing to do with cache, the issue is the sim injecting large chunks of data which causes a CPU spike and eventually the stutters.

There’s a lot of snake oil advice in this thread that I’d personally stay away from, it could end up messing up your system. There’s a massive thread on the official forums about this issue, and

Just to compare and not to brag - 2024, almost daily flights over LA, 3060TI, 5900X and never stutters.  Also 1080p with a 32gb cache. dd

Thank you, @abrams_tank for a well thought out and logic toubleshooting guide!

What are you talking about??? You're not testing the software! You're simply trying to determine, if there's a problem at your end or with the software! It's quite common troubleshooting, if you're having an issue with something. Ruling out whether or not it's an issue at your end, has nothing to do with "beta-testing-software".

Sorry for the rant...

Yup, well said. Ruling out other factors, and trying to isolate, is a commonly used technique in debugging software.

Yes, you are 100% right.

In this case I mentioned this "opinion" because the MSFS2024 release is a huge desaster for lots of people and the numbers (who are using 2024, 2020 or both) incl. the Topics and Votes at MSFS support forum tell me, that something is not optimized at MS/Asobo release process.

Just my opinion but that is what I am talking about.

To many users are spending hours, even days and months, figuring out issues by ruling out anything on their end.....to find out more often as required, that the issue is not at their end.

Again, just my opinion.....you may not agree....I am fine with it. But you asked what I am talking about, thats my answer

And why you apologize for ranting? Strange, why did you choose to rant and not having a normal converstation with me or just ask and wait for my answer?

Added following actions to interact with cockpit touchscreens (avionics/EFB)

Added control over some menu scroll bars

Added “COCKPIT FREELOOK OFF” and “COCKPIT FREELOOK ON” to allow control on the surfaces while looking around

Added notifications to keep the user informed about the progress of the download of their packages through my library

Added support for capacity and quantity in ‘Asobo_Water_Ballast_Parameters’

Added a ‘_VALVE’ suffix to all parameters previously present in ‘Asobo_Water_Ballast_Parameters’ (since they were only related to valves)

etc etc etc all new, all therefore new features (waiting for you/tuskin to claim they're "not features"!). Either way all new code, so no not all bug fixes 🙂

They're not major features.

Oh so smaller features don't count then, how predictable from you 🤣

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Looking at the all the changelogs in the SU3 beta drivers (https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/su3/su3-news/390) it should be evident to anyone with basic reading and comprehension skills that they have fixed much more than they have "added". And to try and spin that to "omg they are ADDING and breaking stuff" is rather silly, and very predictable. And some of these additions could also be highly voted requests or associated to other fixes.

Jorg, not me. Something like Multi-Jetways is the sort of feature they won't be adding any time soon. Stuff that big

I said "almost all bug fixes", which I stand by...

You list 6 adds out of a list of dozens of changes (the rest being fixes).   Sorry, etc etc etc doesn't cut it here...   You clearly have an agenda, so don't let actual facts and figures get in your way.

Ok mate you have fun

Noticed the odd popping/stutters etc happen in both sims. Cruise, descent/approach....sometimes on final. Sometimes, the popping sound happened with no stutters. No bluetooth heads either.

I was searching old posts on both forums and, funny enough, 2020 had similar stutters, which I believe were fixed after SU5. The good news is it’ll likely be fixed at some point; the bad news is it might take a while before the issue is resolved and the stutters are eliminated.

And reading through old posts, it seems like PG was the issue, which is why some PG areas like LA in 2024 are particularly bad. It might be due to excessive LODs, which could be the reason why the CPU spikes and we get stutters.

I'm glad I found this topic. I never upgrade software until approx 1 year after release; ie. nevr buy v1.0.0 of anything. I was just about to start the task of upgrading my MSF 2020 to MSF 2024. Then I read this topic. I think I'll stay with my very well behaved MSFS 2020 for a while longer.
