FSLabs A321Neo Released

Featured Replies

@buspelle This could be related to a usage spike with CPU/GPU usage, like sudden heavy load on the system, software on your PC, but I didn’t observe this behaviour in neither sims.

  • I love the people who post for no other reason but to tell everyone they aren't getting it...  Do you also stop at every car dealership and pop your head in just to let everyone know you aren't buying

  • I don't have a problem purchasing from them. Get over it already.

  • Flying this FSL NEO yesterday down to KRSW and I get an ECAM for smoke in lavatory with the master warning going off. I’m like WTH? CAB lights up and I answer and Norman tells me they caught some guy

again a perfect example of making this over complicated to the average simmer.

This is why fenix have done so well with people who just want to fly the thing.  The average 14 year old simmer on vatsim doesnt even though what a techlog or a MEL is or the ramifactions of a fuel penalty or restriction for example. hence why Fenix have done so well and sold  a ton of copies.

with the fenix you can move the sliders to the correct zfw etc and one click  choose how you want to load,  via gsx or straight away, then send to fmgs.  takes 5 seconds.  in a nice big box with an easy to use efb

if you are a super serious simmer brillant, but for the average Joe, they made it too much.  in my opinion

The 14 year old is going for Default or Fenix nothing wrong with that, if you find this to complicated then system simulations isn't for you. We have a large community here that are different type of simmers and interested how things work in the RW.
This site started between those simmers and sharing the passion for aviation.

We have a polite community here and they would say thank you for taking the time to write this.
This isn't a VS thing it's about FSL and the NEO if you can't handle that, just don't read or interact, getting tired of reading the same arguments over and over.
We already know Fenix is for you, and good for you enjoy. But don't take a help other simmer post into a VS argument.

Thanks a lot. I think I'll just stay with the Fenix 🙂

another going for it, out of the fenix, the pmdg birds, and the freewares (fbw and hs)  the FSL sticks to the managed descent profile like glue.  best of all of them

To be fair, fluffyflops has praised the neo several times for its systems depth and flight characteristics.

FS2024 • PMDG 738, 77F • FSL A321 • A2A Comanche, Aerostar • BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan Pro • JF Tomahawk • TAOG H500C
BeyondATC • GSX Pro • ChasePlane & Flow Pro • TDS GTNXi • FSUIPC • AutoFPS • RealTurb

9800X3D B650E • ROG OC RTX 5090 • 64GB DDR5-6000 • VKB Gladiator, STECS, T-Rudder • Tobii 5 • ISP 1 Gbps

My point is not about the Fenix or his opinion, don't like the VS arguments anyway.
My post was helpful towards another simmer FSL related... Prefer that it stays in context for help. I even ended in it takes 30 seconds.

Hence why fenix is right product for them - Fslabs's target audience is not your typical average 14 year old simmer who don't understand the difference between TAS/IAS/GS let alone MEL/Tech log. Fslabs are targeting to those who want to experience the systems simulations getting close to real A321 neo as it can be within sim limitations. Fenix on the other hand has better user interface meaning that someone who has not flown airbus before or someone who does not have a clue as to how airbus operates can fire up the sim and get flying. Fslabs's philosophy is slightly different - they want you to experience what it is like to be pilot on A321 neo and go through the normal flows/checklist to ensure safe operation. If you miss something or do something stupid - it has secondary effects which are either good or bad. But you can turn these settings off should you not care about them. There are loads of options available in MCDU as well as EFB and it is up to individual users to figure out how they want to use the product.

ive already said numerous times I think overal its a good product, the point im making is for the casual simmer, id go for the fenix its just more simpler to use, and that the gsx intergration on the FSL is horrifc. Ive also said I spent the weekend flying it with 2 mates (who are airbus drivers themselves) who said the same as me about the gsx intergration.

However if you want to fly around with a makeshift mel with a fuel penalty, and faff around putting pax numbers in a mcdu, or practice one engine go-arounds in LFMN for your upcoming LPC/OPC then the FSL is for you, and im also well aware the orgins of FSL I used to work at the same place as 2 of the staff.

I did not have "Fenix is the choice for the kiddies" on my AVSIM bingo card.

Again this is not the point was helping a fellow simmer not discussing items... You could start a new topic or not quoting my help post.
Anyway I leave it at this have fun with whatever gives you enjoyment...

Indeed. One could also turn this around and say FSLAbs is not for the average senior citizen flightsimmer, because their brains are too slow and they are stuck in the old ways of simming and therefore would be overwhelmed by an aircraft that simulates real world operations to the letter.

But that would be just as foolish as claiming that the average 14 year old just hops in an aircraft without wanting to learn a bit about how to operate it correctly.

This is a forum thread discussing the pros and cons of a recently released product.

I would suggest if your aim was to help a fellow member of the forum and you wanted it to be more focused to that then you probably should be the one sending a personal message to that person you want to help while the others rightfully compare and contrast their experiences with the product.

I saw your post to Briscoe and it was indeed helpful no doubt but posting it did highlight the level of detail to get certain tasks done  and that can be of concern for a few members on here and the post was used to highlight this. Was not an attack on you personally or had any malicious intent (From what i took of it).
