What I found when not using any mods was: -- the FD does come on whenever the AP is turned on (didn't with the original TDS mod). -- When HDG was pushed on, the heading bug did not move and sync with the plane's heading as it did (at least for me) with the TDS mod. -- When HDG was pushed on, the FD still "turned" in the wrong direction as in my post above. It would be good if someone who is not using any mods could check these findings. Al Edited July 9, 2025Jul 9 by ark

My FD test was to load onto the runway, set the heading bug off to the side about 30 degrees, then turn on the AP and then push HDG. Was that about what you tried? What version of the sim are you using? I am not using a FS2024 Beta. Edited July 9, 2025Jul 9 by ark

Nope, I tried it as it should normally be used, turned On the AP after taking off, then HDG On and then then turned the HDG knob. I'm on SU3 beta. OK, agree. Why the FD doesn't work correctly on the runway I don't know. When I try a different plane with the same test the FD does work correctly, but as you point out, there is no reason to use the FD on the runway anyway. So that was not a good test. I did find out that when using the TDS mod, if I turn on the AP HDG using a button through FSUIPC7, the HDG bug does not sync to the current plane heading, which is useful when flying IFR since there are times when in NAV you like to preset the HDG bug for an upcoming turn using HDG. Why clicking directly on the AP HDG button does sync the heading bug to the plane's heading when using the TDS mod I don't know. I don't have that problem using the TDS GTNs in other planes. Thanks for the help. Al Edited July 9, 2025Jul 9 by ark

July 13, 2025Jul 13 There's a mod out to add the GTN pms50 to the 2024 Dakota. Works perfectly. https://flightsim.to/file/93736/2024-pms50-gtn-gps-replacements-for-older-eyes
July 14, 2025Jul 14 You also need the mod https://flightsim.to/file/13415/jds-gtn750-on-gns530-mod, Both are required for the mods to work. Sorry I wasn't more clear. The folder in the above that's required is called "ZZZ JD 00 GTN750 MAIN MOD 2.1" - REQUIRED for all the other folders to work!

We need one that replaces the bezel too, like marcfsx did for the TDS. This one breaks immersion for me.
