January 13Jan 13 The MSFS 2024 flight was my standard test run, KJFK to KBOS Rwy 33L, ILS. I figured out the mouse pointer matter, now I can get AP control of Heading, Speed & ALT by 'clicking' the mouse center wheel over the appropriate button. The flight went really well, AP NAV all the way & the ILS approach was exemplary, complete with tire screech at touch down Very pleased with this aircraft & I intend to put a lot more time on it. T45
January 13Jan 13 My personal past experience with TFDI is that they oversold product and didn't deliver fully with the 717. (for whatever reason). If the MSFS 2024 version of the TFDI MD11 now meets consumer satisfaction then good!! I might consider a purchase , But I am not buying the 2020 version to fiddle with installing the 2024 upgrade.

I liked the 717 alot. In P3DV4. In v5 it always had issues like lighting. I didn't use it much in v5 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

January 13Jan 13 What am I getting with the Extended Simulation package exactly, that I would miss during normal ops? Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. What a godsend...Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). January 14Jan 14 My FMC says "Check Data Base Cycle" and the data does seem to be out of date. However, when I go to Navigraph Hub, it says everything is up to date. What am I missing?

I noticed 1 difference with respect to MSFS 2020 - on the Autopilot in FS20, when you hover the mouse pointer over, say, the Heading dial, you get a downward pointing arrow, or moving the pointer 'up' slightly, an upward pointing arrow. Left clicking on the former has the AP setting control the heading, left clicking on the latter, [upward arrow], has the FMS control the heading. In FS2024 I am not getting the 'up/down' arrow choice when I hover the mouse pointer over the Heading dial so I am wondering if I should be, & thereby have a Setting incorrect somewhere? T45 I use legacy for mouse control and am getting the up and down arrows.

January 14Jan 14 I finally got the plane. I feel it handflies a lot better than what I used to have in MSFS2020 and P3Dv5, and well, it looks a lot better. There are, unfortunately 3 things I didn't like: 1) I can't still hide the yoke. Some of my FS9 planes have that function. I hope to be wrong, but if not... c'mon TFDi, you can do better! EDIT: apparently there is the option, but I can't find it. 2) I still can't remove fuel mid-flight (for skipping cruise). But now I find fuel dump rate is slower than before, so I couldn't get to the gross weight I wanted on time for approach. 3) The most important one for me: as expected with all native MSFS2024 models, all the repaints I have for 2020 were rendered useless. Also, texture filenames and file structure changed between versions, so I can't simply convert the repaints I have from DDS to KTX2 (as I did with the PMDG 777 or the JF Avro RJ). I don't know how the team overlooked that feature but sooo glad to see they introduced in this update. Where?
