TFDI MD-11 updated

Update:

Here's an update:
- Website issues are mostly resolved by the queue. At the moment, the typical time in the queue is 12-13 minutes. This obviously varies. The timer that Cloudflare shows is not accurate unfortunately.
- The smartCARS API is currently affected by the amount of resources during this update release. This should subside over time.

$5 USD, the price of an actual cup of coffee at Starbucks in the US. Good on TFDI for a reasonable upgrade fee to MSFS 2024.

  • Hi all, we're happy to announce that the long-awaited Art, FS2024, and Extended Sim update for the MD-11 will release on 12JAN26 at 1600 GMT. We'll be here in Discord to chat and address anything

Well, $5 here is closer to the price of two coffees😝 After that, only three planes left before I can remove MSFS2020, but all of them are default.

I have no idea how to just purchase the 2024 upgrade. Any ideas?

Cheers, Pete

Edit - Figured it out.

Is the navdata current or should we  update it?

System specs: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz; 16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz; 8 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (NVIDIA)

Is it possible to install the FS2024 version into a selected community folder (for AddonLinker sake)? I read at the TFDI Discord that it installs into the Community2024 folder.

Thanks

The Hub says its out of date.

I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988.

Windows 11 Pro loaded on a 4TB Gen5 Crucial T700 SSD, 4TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, Ryzen 9 7950x3d, AS Rock X670e Taichi Motherboard, Gigabyte Gaming RTX 4090 OC 24GB, 64GB (2x32GB) Viper Venom  DDR5-6000MT/s, MSI 32" MAG 321UPX QD-OLED 260hz 4K Gaming Monitor.

I was in the queue, had 10 minutes left, then just went to a broken TDFi website screen and when I try to log back in it just brings me to that broken screen.

Perhaps a dumb question, but does the $5 upgrade get us the passenger and freight variants?

Cheers, Pete

It does. No more multitasking for me today.

I tried to move all the folders like what I did I think in FS20 without problem, but it didn´t work now in FS24 for permissions and maybe more, and I don´t want those aircraft GBs in that Disk/folder, hope a solution for AddonLinker also.

@PilotPete99 Yes, if you have those both versions purchased yet, yes.

Can someone point me to some good videos which cover the autopilot logic? I bought this a week ago and am really struggling; most specifically on departure. Maybe it os b/c I am running it in 2024, not sure, but just doesn't seem to be responding correctly. Thanks.

A lot of good videos out there from  Classic Jet SimPilot, Moosestaffa, and Father Time to name a few.
But basically take what you know about Boeing and Airbus logic (push pull) and mix it in a blender, and add a mint garnish for the dial a flap configuration.
its a lot of fun. One hell of a beast of a machine with chest thumping climb rates even over FL280.
Just don’t expect fuel efficiency.

Got the FS2020 Art update & flew KATL to St Louis, very smooth flight & made the ILS

landing on 2nd attempt after I came into the feathers too high 1st time around.

FS24 variant will be next, probably tomorrow.

Anyone who has it, does the passenger version come with many liveries?

I read through the manual last night.  My quick summary would be:

- Push in: maintains current (Airspeed, altitude, heading)

- Pull out: commands the aicraft to go to the pilot selected (airspeed, altitude, heading).

- Other buttons below the knobs: Let the FMS handle it

Thanks. My biggest issues are on the climb. Once I am in cruise I am fine. For some reason, even though I "believe" I have the AP controlling (things are purple) the AC climbs erratically and exceeds 250 kts by a lot!! Obviously user error on my part but...

I didn't buy the MD-11 for MSFS 2020 but I'm very interested now. How's the provided documentation? How does its system depth when compared to PMDG and Fenix?

Fulcrum One Yoke / FSProjects Airbus Side Stick, Honeycomb Bravo, Slaw Device RX Viper V2

Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, PNY RTX 5080, 48GB RAM

I'm running into a few hiccups. I installed it a couple of hours ago, and I am not able to fly yet. If MSFS2024 does not freeze up when I load the plane, the nav database is corrupted and the FMC cant find any waypoints or Airports. I have reinstalled and ran the navigraph Hub to update.
