FSLabs NEO or wait for FENIX? (MSFS2020)

Featured Replies

Do they still run that optimization software when starting the sim? They use to run a software optimization on P3D making suggestions to change your anti aliasing settings and I was wondering if they still have that.

  • I have the FSL CEO and NEO and they are my go to aircraft at the moment in MSFS2024. I do have the Fenix A320 too but haven't flown it for a few months. I'll try and give some points as to why I like

  • I've owned fenix since release. Have hundreds of hours on it. I purchased the FSLabs CEO when released for 2020 and now the Neo. Guess whick airbuses I no longer fly? Yes the Fenix. The FSLABs has a m

  • I couldn't wait any longer and got the FSLAbs NEO. Not a single regret, very good quality addon.

No, not for MSFS 20/24.

From what I've seen you can't go wrong with Fenix but they have been rather radio silent since they announced the big update that was suppose to be released.

Thank God.

I despise teams who fell the constant need to tell us about progress of something that still has no definitve, publishable release window.

Tell me what's happening 3 weeks prior release is enough for me.

Well, that's the problem. They did announce what was happening 2 weeks prior to release. Then, 3.5 months later no update other than something in David's Updates (not even Announcements), they are now hopelessly delayed.

I mean, ok, "the next couple of weeks" has some wiggle room in timelines, but it's not 3.5 months.

This the second time they've hit some massive show stopping update when they think they are close enough to release to give a timeline.

I love Fenix, but now when they release ANY sort of guidance I am giving it the same grain of salt my wife uses when I tell her when I am addressing her honey-do list.

One other thing that Fenix doesn't do is the Rudder Disc button on my tiller works natively - No configuration required.

Could someone please clarify whether TCAS CTD with BATC/SI injected traffic occurs in 2020 or 2024 or in both sims

Well...I purchased it last night.

First impression - visual model, textures, cockpit geometry/textures are very far behind of not even FENIX, but PMDG also. Perhaps they would release comprehensive painkit later, but for now it's big disappointment.

Other than that - it's our beloved P3D liner with new CDPLC functionality and GSX embedded into EFB (I spent a good portion of time trying to figure it out).

Well, maybe I will sleep on it for 3 weeks and change my mind 🙂

PS. And yes - LEAP model only so far, hence there are no JBU, ANZ, VLG and others.

I think the visual model etc, although not crucial in a good simulation, is what is putting me off pushing the trigger here.

I am in the same boat with the graphics delaying my decision. But the flight deck I saw on A330 Driver's stream didn't look horrible either.

I'd say the A321 is comparable to the PMDG 738 I own. They certainly aren't bad, it's just FENIX set a very high bar....

I imagine it's easier to improve textures than the simulation of complex flight systems, so hopefully FSL will work on improving visuals soon.
