"World

Fixed the shape and appearance of distant clouds.

Improved the lighting of distant clouds especially when the sun is low in the sky."

Big ones! Someone please test and report!!!

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

Well distant clouds do seem to be back to their previous quality - that's the good.
However, I seem to be getting a few issues such as Just Flight Traffic not working properly now - getting default planes and liveries even though they are turned off in sim - strange!

Also, getting a few stutters I never had before with FG.  Next time I am going to delete my rolling cache before I restart.
If we have to keep doing this, I wish Asobo would provide a setting for it.  Someone please enlighten me if there is one.  All I see is Rolling Cache size and path.

Also...

  • Fixed some emissive flashing issues when disabling an interaction highlight.

What the heck does that mean?  A bit cryptic again.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Hi folks,

The issue about performance near airports (particularly noticeable just before landing) remains under investigation by the dev team. Additional performance improvements are planned for upcoming test builds.

For 1.5.21.0, the main addition was the new settings options to adjust density of static aircraft, fauna, etc.

Thanks,

MSFS Team

Another hot garbage update, you no longer can turn off Ai Traffic... GTFO Asobo...
Possible Knee Jerk reaction expecting another downgrade as they are known for...

Ah!  That would be my problem then.  FFS!

In shame i must report that you can turn it off, as they said in the notes they added new options which are automatically on, and if turned off, gets rid of static aircraft: (Looks like they now pull from your entire Ai library instead of just default now)

The Options in question is:
Passive Aircraft Quality: OFF

Thats what finally did it for me... still testing if injectors work with this option off tho! (ie my goal is to have Default MSFS 2024 not inject anything at all, leaving my injectors to do all the work to avoid any duplicates etc)
Edit: BATC Injector working fine no duplicates...

In other news its silky smooth but the aggressive LOD loading slows down the frames at times as it tries loading what it had loaded just a couple of mins ago when looking in different directions....

They've split airport ground vehicles from airport aircraft traffic, this is good news to ones like me that did not use asobo aircraft traffic but wanted to have airport ground vehicles to make it a bit more immersive.

'Added a graphic setting for passive aircraft quality on PC."

That could have a better label like 'Static Aircraft'. It's not immediately clear what it means. Someone has already made a request thread on the forums.

Tested this beta and they FU something, when panning around, now textures struggle to load.

If you think you've found a bug or regression, then post it on the beta forum.

PERFECTION!!!

This is EXACTLY what i wanted. I do not want Asobos aircraft. I want the ground support vehicles and on the flip side i want AIG  Aircraft but do not want aig's support vehicles doing donuts on the tarmac.

PERFECTION!!

Please let this be what it is ... i am around 90% satisfied with my setup. having these quality of life setup fixes will bring me pretty darned close to never opening up 2020 unless i absolutely need to scratch  a 737ng flight itch
