Apart from the example of SU5 (which brought regressions but doubled the performance anyway), normally the updates improved the sim. And the development process was much faster, we never had SU betas lasting 3-6 months! The pace was more like one update per month (WU or SU). 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

I distinctly remember many people here complaining that Asobo was not taking the time to address issues found by testers before releasing finals. Are we going the other way, now? Also, let's never forget that MSFS was something totally new after 14 years of nothing - teething issues were expected and tolerable - whereas FS2024 was supposed to improve and develop what we already had. Do you fly IFR? Are you happy with the current development and blatant regressions? Do you think that Asobo is delivering on their promises (trailers, interviews...)? Be sincere. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

Do you think that Asobo is delivering on their promises (trailers, interviews...)? Be sincere. Yes, I fly IFR. Happy with regressions? No, but I keep in mind the obvious complexity of all the moving parts in this project, and I give Asobo and friends credit for bringing us the most incredible sim we never thought we would get; after more than a decade of stagnation and not a bit of hope that anyone would ever make the insane investment in our little niche to make what we have now possible. Yeah, pretty much, though they may encounter delays, roadblocks and setbacks which I take as mostly par for the course. I'm actually pretty impressed that the whole thing works at all. Consider the task of combining weather data from one source, ship traffic data from another, live flight traffic data from a third, as well as keeping track of multiple players flying together, on top of 3D world data and ortho photos, all combined and streamed to our homes in real-time, with code whose complexity might rival that of human DNA at this point.... Sincerely, I'm one of those who remember clearly not only the things that get broken and complained about, but also the fixes to things we complained about that we mostly don't seem to recollect and rarely acknowledge in our haste to rush to the next complaint. (And also, one might think the tons of free stuff that we used to pay through the nose for and now take for granted might garner at least a bit of goodwill....) We are all connected..... August 1, 2025Aug 1 I 2nd all of what @HiFlyer wrote above, and complement my previous post in this thread with a description of my last experience, last night, using a soaring weather preset that pretty much replicated RW conditions I flew IRL a nice triangle, departing and arriving to LPMN... It was ALL (less the glider which is a model I never even had the chance to get next to because I don't go to Air Fairs and Festivals like that in Friedrichshafen 😞 ) just like IRL, with scenery, weather rendering and even if not perfect a very very effective simulation of convection. Nowadays FS 2024 is more useful to me to prepare for RW soaring tasks than even Condor 3 !!! Jorg slowed down the cadence of the updates for a reason and SU1, SU2 and SU3 have been a lot less controversial than the early 2020 updates were. I rather they take their time with updates and get things right. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
August 1, 2025Aug 1 I too am happy that MSFS exists, but I can't help feeling fooled when I'm sold "animal migrations" in a sim where traffic does not keep into consideration wind and the runway in use, or an ATC textbox that is broken since months... I mean, a simple textbox. The last update broke the METAR system, too. But OK, I realize that the team taking care of animal migrations is not the same team that fixes the textboxes or breaks the METAR. Maybe there is also a separate team that will fix the "underscore" speaker, probably breaking 2 or 3 other things. I just landed at EIDW, I leave you with a screenshot. I could not reach the gate, my 129 passengers must be furious. Fortunately, they are also invisible and dead silent, unlike those featured in the trailers 🙂 Edited August 1, 2025Aug 1 by MrFuzzy 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber
