I am for the most pretty amazed i still can run 70%4K with mostly high settings (some at ULTRA) with my 11GB GTX1080TI.

Yesterday i was at 100% 4K and ULTRA textures andi had a warning but i forgot that 100% for prior GA flight and TLOD/OLOD 150/150

That isn't the point I was making, and you know it. I never said I still used FS9 either. I also didn't ask you for help, so I'm not sure why you'd say there isn't much you can do about it. 🤷‍♂️ I am happy for you that you are happy.

The point clearly is that MSFS2024 DOES run ok on todays hardware, because it IS doing for me.  The problem concisely is that YOU are trying to run TODAYs simulator on YESTERYEARS hardware!

So when people do turn down their settings and still get VRAM through the roof what then? You need to realise this is an Asobo issue, constantly passing it off as users at fault isn't going to get us anywhere.

Remember pre launch we were sold, by Seb and Jorg, that the system specs should be the same as 2020, that the optimisation of the CPU cores will help performance - yet here we still are, now with promises of more CPU optimisation in SU4 whilst people are still struggling with excessive VRAM usage.

Go read the official forums, Reddit, discord, there's still very clearly major issues with VRAM and poor optimisation of the code currently with the SU3 beta, it's clear as day.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti was released on June 10, 2021

Your hardware is 5 years old.   The fantasy that the sim should run perfectly for you on this is, I'm sorry, exactly that.

To be honest, the "fantasy" was fueled by the Devs of MSFS2024 making bold statements as the one Marc already mentioned, that MSFS2024 should run equally good if not better on the same hardware on which MSFS2020 was running good. And MSFS2020 was released in August 2020, at this time, his hardware was brand new and top-notch. So I DO absolutely understand the frustration, even if it is based on the statements of the devs and one should by now know how much credit can be given on such marketing blabla.

Greetings, Chris

Ahhh yes my 5090 and 7950X3D are really antique now.

But hey, as long as you’re happy, I’m happy for you 🙂

PS, Wait, I forgot to patronise you with caps lock:-

I’m really HAPPY for you that it’s working GOOD for YOU. My yesterday’s hardware is clearly INCAPABLE. So, what do you recommend I upgrade to?

To be fair, mine is over four years old now and runs 2024 beautifully with just a few obvious settings scaled back just a touch, not that you would know visually. I will probably upgrade soon just because I can afford it this year, not because I need to.

And it did, until SU2... these people forget everything and pretend not to see many posts in which I and other people with 4080 and 5080 cards cannot run SU2 and SU3 beta without stutters at MEDIUM settings.

Even Kevin uses AutoFPS with a 5090 and a 9800X3D... and he's happy with it, what else can be said?

wow ok, well then I take that back, sorry.  If that hardware isn't working for you, you do have a problem somewhere.

...obvious settings... is the operative phrase here methinks

Yes, I do, not because I particularly need to, but I do like being able to scale TLOD to insane levels dynamically while retaining my base required framerate.

One of the challenges people are having is with VRAM usage. In an early post-release dev stream Sebastian said "just upgrade your GPU" and they were shocked it was people with high-end 4090s having the issue.

The one that goes hand in hand with this a bug where on landing one can get massive stutters around the time ground effect kicks in. This is a bug ASOBO acknowledged and is working on a fix.

I also stand by that if you advertise a game being able to run with recommended specs, that game should run at them. Not at high end settings, no. Also this game is designed to run on an Xbox. Xbox users -- who I don't think have any major control over graphics settings -- are having issues when the code should be optimized for them.

When people with 24g cards are having issues, this is an Asobo problem.

Not everyone with 24GB cards are having issues though. Or stutters on the ground.

No, I don't have any problems anywhere. Asobos game, on the other hand, has major issues.
