Strange!

You will have to see if your VRAM gets eaten up over a longer flight.  In some ways maybe it should.  One of the problems is we don't know where we should be really.
All I know is I have suddenly started getting the VRAM / GPU notice in SU3 .21, and I haven't changed anything.  It does stutter slightly when the notice shows up.
I have actually turned the notice off for now in the usercfg as it is just as annoying.

Well it is in the desert and now it dropped to 8.8GB VRAM towards KDTA but still TLOD400 at 4K 🙂

That is one of the frustrations with the sim.  It is so inconsistent.  I have had a fairly stable last few weeks with it (maybe since SU3 .19), then all of a sudden bam!

I will have to check to see if I have accidentally changed something, but like the old FSX, I seem to be doing more checking / tweaking than flying now.

My TLOD is down to 200 and it makes no difference (on a 4080!).  Maybe I should try clearing all the caches, but we shouldn't have to be doing this.

PS.  I have kept my old 1080Ti as a backup card - maybe I should slot it back in!

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Maybe just a misunderstanding.  The way I read it is (my brackets) ...

"They should be developing it to run on today's high-end hardware, not tomorrow's.   Develop it to work on tomorrow's (tech), tomorrow (In the future)".

I totally agree with the statement - just common sense.

Yup, no disagreement here. That’s exactly what they’re doing. It runs on yesterday’s tech too.

You may note (but probably will not) that I did not say that 2024 should be coded for tomorrow's tech. I was pointing out what appeared to me to be the case in the past.

I stand by my post. For instance, on my system if I set Texture Resolution to Ultra I constantly get the VRAM message. If I turn it down to High I never see it.

All of a sudden 'what' though? What is it you are experiencing? You said earlier you were suddenly getting the VRAM notice which you then disabled. What else is happening? What is the 'bam' here?

Well for the time being reverted to SU2, until the official release of SU3...

To many performance issues with 3rd party stuff and simconnect...

Despite lot of fixes I indeed like,  but telemetry in the background not to happy about and other issues... Tested enough 🤣

interesting, do we know for sure that telemetry is still enabled for SU3 beta? I thought they disabled it some builds ago. If not, even happier as that could give me another performance boost beyond what I already see now

Hi folks,

For clarification, telemetry is always enabled in both every pre-release test build and every release build. Telemetry allows the developers to track a multitude of (anonymous) data that they use to improve the sim, such as crash logs, performance stats, what aircraft people are flying, where are they flying, what percentage of flight sessions use each game mode (Career, Challenge League, Free Flight, or World Photographer), and much, much more.

You may be confusing this always-on telemetry with the enhanced memory logging feature (which is noted to reduce sim performance) which is only enabled for certain beta builds. Typically, we will indicate in the release notes if enhanced memory logging is turned on for that build.

Enhanced memory logging is not enabled in 1.5.9.0.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

I didn't reinstall. Seems fine. Surely the aren't going to expect everyone to reinstall when the beta ends and SU3 goes live?

Well that is the process if you leave the beta reinstall, or when you stay in the beta no reinstall necessary...  Just wondering if we need a complete reinstall with SU3 1.5.23.0 🙃

they renamed the steam install folder from limitless to msfs2024

Looks like the A320NeoV2 accepts flightplan import from the default flight planner now. I'll have to test the other ini aircraft after.

Is simconnect broken in the beta ? Reason I ask is that Avilasoft EFB ( networked ) and APLv2 wont recognize the flight is loaded at the gate.
